Trubisky would have thrown at least one pick 6. Last time I checked, Browns have a good defense.

The Steelers blew a big opportunity today, they better beat the Bengals next week, the division is out of reach with this crappy offense.

Steelers have the 28th ranked defense and 28th ranked offense. Now it's likely the 32nd ranked offense unless Warren helped us to 31st.

Agree with everything you said and just want to add that it is inexcusable for Warren to have only 9 carries and not in on that last series. Kenny is regressing with not help from Canada with his play calling, (no rhythm in play calling), play designs and no plays down the middle of the field, just plan awful display of offense.

Yep, makes absolutely no sense handing the ball off to him in the shotgun formation. For some crazy reason they think it can work, even though it rarely does

He's never thrown one in his career. Hard to imagine he would throw multiple in the same game at this point. Fluky stat, but still.

I doubt they are giving up on him, but Tomlin would be justified in benching Pickett after this one. It's not all on him. Johnson had some key drops and seemed to run the wrong route twice late in the game, but Pickett was awful.

I think the Bengals will run their offense rather than protect the quarterback, which could create more opportunities for big plays, but also put more pressure on a defense that is struggling to adapt. The Browns helped the Steelers out with dropped passes, three of them by Njoku and one by Moore.

That’s true. A couple of positive gains after 1st down on the Browns 40 would have put us in position to kick a FG and get the lead. A couple of stops on that last drive would have forced the game into OT. A couple of competent coordinators would have made this a walk in the park against a depleted Browns offense. A couple…

cut najee saves $2.4 million in salary but costs $4.1 million in dead cap for 2024. we'll probably keep him for year 4 but not year 5

    No surprise, they're consistent

Lose one, win two so far this year. Today fits the pattern ;)

I wasn't suggesting cutting him. More like no 2nd contract or trade.

I have no issue with what Austin did today. Yes, the Browns took a hit with the loss of Watson. They had other guys out, but they had those guys out when they scored 33 against the Ravens last week. (I know they got a pick-six, but the offense still contributed 27 points against a damn good defense.) The middle of the Steelers' defense has been decimated by injuries. The three guys most responsible for communication, Holcomb, Fitzpatrick, and Alexander, were all out. They had to start two guys just up from the practice squad, which led to some stupid mistakes early. The defense didn't make enough big plays, but they held the Browns to three points in the second half.

If that doesn't convince you, remember that they were a couple of missed opportunities away from an even more dominant performance. They had Ford stopped with nowhere to go on his second-down run a play before Cleveland's only touchdown. Walker simply missed an easy tackle. Then there was the ball Thompson should have intercepted. That easily could have been a pick-six.

Canada, on the other hand, did a terrible job today. It was apparent early that his plan would not work, but he never seemed to adapt. They kept running screens and other plays that would have worked better against man coverage, which was one reason the passing game was a disaster.

All these 500% seasons (or barely above) are actually hurting them from ever being a SB contender. They need a franchise QB, and they'll never get one drafting at #20 every year

Walker and Thompson each missed opportunities for big plays, but they played well overall. Walker missed a tackle for a loss on Ford, which ended up being a run to the one to set up the Browns' only touchdown. Thompson dropped an interception that could have been a pick-six. If he makes that play, I think the Steelers take control of the game and win.

Kenny is a big problem..It's tough to admit you may have missed on round one pick, but Canada is every bit as much or a bigger problem..When the boss (Tomlin) doesn't have the balls to actually make the hard decisions, you lose everyone and that is going to happen..This offense is historically bad, and has been so through a couple years of change..We keep trotting the same people, with the same gameplan out there expecting different results... Canada should have been gone at the bye week...Kenny should have been given the rest of this season to put up or shut up...You would have at least know where you stood by seasons end ..But we're just gonna keep dragged this sh!t out..Tomlin needs to act like a boss not everybody's homeboy, but im not sure he's capable

If we were like 2-8 or 3-7 absolutely NOBODY would complain that it would be undeserved

34 and 17 were pretty decent in relief, too.

He might have also thrown a TD pass. He does push the ball upfield so maybe he and Pickens could have connected on something. Pickett is scared to death to throw the ball more than 10 yards.
