Earlier in the game he put a shimmy shake on a linebacker before sliding for a 3 yards. lol. A yard short of the first down. That was also a bit of a whoa moment, a throwback to Detroit game early in his career. He did some of that stuff in red-zone situations.

There were plays left on the field by Mason today. There have been plays left on the field by Rodgers in his last few games. The #1/#2 receiver situation is not good but let's not act like there's not weapons these 2 QBs can be using. Whether it's on them or Smith or a combination of the two, neither QB is making plays consistently enough for this team to be a serious contender. I would welcome the opportunity to be wrong about Mason if he were to get this team to the playoffs but I don't see that happening because when Rodgers is healthy he'll be starting.

He was old last year and made All-Pro.

Unless Rodgers gets sacked again and tries to brace himself with left hand and gets hurt again. He is conditioned to use the left hand as the right hand usually has the ball and he would fumble. Bone takes 6-12 weeks to heal and another fall using left hand to break fall (as a habit) could do season ending damage to an already compromised wrist if he's not wearing a hard brace.

This is a true statement. However, I don't think that fact will change what the Steelers do moving forward. I think Rodgers will want to play and I think Tomlin will let him. Regardless if that's a bad decision or not. I could be wrong though. It's happened in the past a time or two.

Reputation has something to do with that. His performance has declined. There really isn't any drop off in play when he isn't there. He isn't winning LOS battles like he use to.

He had 8 sacks last year that's one of the reasons why he made All-Pro.

I am sure Tomlin will get him in in his quest to not have a losing season. So much is made of that and, speaking of recent past that's all he has to hang his hat on.

Not to mention, I'm not sure Tomlin wants to deal with the drama of benching Rodgers in favor of Rudolph. Like you brought up though, an injury gives him a built in excuse to do so.

This year he has 1.5 sacks. Stayed too long.

I'm glad they didn't give him any more money after he was trying to hold out.
