This is my first time hearing about it as well.

I hope it's nothing serious or a nagging injury that can bother him all season.

The report I heard first day said was it wasn't a big deal. They reported Neal and Kazee at safety.

Tomlin said it was "nothing of significance".

Corey Crisan, DKPS reported Friday "No injury concern whatsoever, though." Makes you curious why he is being held out though.

Burrow had a non contact injury after.Sometimes it's better to be very careful, even if it's very minor

For all we know, Minkah is sick and they don't want him pushing it in the heat.

    Anyway, hope he's fine soon.

For a guy with his resume it could be a hangnail and they would hold him out

There are young guys who need the reps

Just saw this YT vid, so many hard to keep up with. In it he states the different heat related issues, and says he actually saw the cramp in Alonzo Graham's calf..so whatever's Minkah's issue is far better to be safe.

Thats the first thing I heard. I do not know who this guy is, just came up on my YT and I gave it a try. I generally stick to Moats and Starks, but got yo give the guy props for standing in the heat...even if he can't pronounce the name of the town correctly.

I think it has more to do with getting these new guys reps that he doesn't necessarily need just yet.

Tomlin has even said this, but around these parts it’s got to be some conspiracy.

This is kinda what I was thinking. They know Minkah, but there are a lot of Guys they need to know better before the season. I hope this is the reason.

    There you have it.

A lot of nothing created from nothing. Minkah has been proven time and time again to be one of, if not the, moat studious players overall for the Steelers. If it wasn't injury related... he had his reasons... nothing more to it than that.

I am about as worried for Minkah's lack of participation as I am worried about T.J. Watt returning to form; non existent.

Well today it escalated from him being at practice but not joining to him not being there at all. I agree him missing the first few days of camp is not big deal and he has earned a lot of leeway to deal with personal issues. On the other hand this is supposed to be the ramp up/acclimation period so you do wonder if it puts him at greater risk of a problem when he does get in there. It seems like the guys holding out get injured more often when they come back but I don't know if it is actually more likely or they just have more scrutiny when it does happen.

Anyone happen to catch the story that I think Steelers depot ran the other day that talked about John Clayton's first time as a beat reporter in Pittsburgh where he broke the story that Noll and the Steelers were practicing in pads beyond what was allowed by the league and the Union at that time. It cost the team a draft pick which the article spun as no big deal since they won the second of back to back titles those years. I found it interesting both because I'd hadnt heard it before and because by the time I started to care about football Clayton wasn't a hated beat reporter more like your weird Uncle that may or may not be related.

Nope I was wrong wasn't Steelers Depot it was this one SteelerNation

I honestly wouldn't worry about Minkah having setbacks in regards to the re acclimation period. He isn't the type of person to skip out on the basics; regardless of most circumstances. As Tomlin stated, it is a personal matter.

Whatever ails him, I am certain he will pull through. He has done so before.
