No one else can hold besides Ben? Harvin should be practicing night and day at that. Bens knees will never make it though the season.

Agree, but fan and media love is preferred over none IMO.

Should I like this because Pierre is showing potential, or dislike it because Ben is throwing picks? I’m torn

I remember when Leftwich was carried down the field after each play because he could barely walk when Marshall vs My Zips. He still kicked our ass. Will we need to do this with Ben? Sarc.

So I could wrap the gumbands around the wax paper holden my jumbo sammiches together. Don't be so nebby.

Look at Pittsburgh Dad's video clips on YouTube for an accurate depiction of a Yinzer.

Well I didn't hear that Terrell got any so Pierre probably timed it at 2.5sec. Ben should catch on soon.

Why are they asking him to hold for kickers anyway? Next thing you know he'll be covering the only WR on the field in the slot.

It's practice. Trying new things and see what works best. Maybe this also speaks to Bens willingness to get out of his comfort zone.

Ben waited for his 40th birthday to get out of his comfort zone. I’m guessing it’s a couple years too late :lolol:

I think the logical reason isn't going to make people happy but it's all about comfort for Boz. If they are changing punters that means a holder that he may not trust. So he works with a guy he knows will be there in 3 months. It's not sexy or click generating but it is logical.

That should be whoever's going 2 be the backup Qb. No???
I've heard of a lot of different positions holding, but .....
I don't think I've ever heard of the Starting Qb holding b4:shrug:
Maybe in Dallas for Romo ...how did that workout???

I don't even think they have the #2 spot settled although solid bet its MR but the point still holds true. If it is a short mini camp and my job is kicking the football I want someone who knows what he is doing.

The way I see it is they have already decided they have seen enough from Harvin to make the team but he’s never held for kicks, so they’re experimenting. Maybe they like the idea of Ben holding to run fakes.

Is Boz in competition for his job? I haven’t heard of anything about that coming out of camp.

I remember in 2019 when Duck and Rudolph were having trouble catching Pouncey's errant shotgun snaps. When asked about it Pouncey said that he has always snapped that way but Ben has such good hands that he covered for a lot of bad snaps.
Maybe for practice they just wanted to use someone they knew would catch the ball but I agree they better find someone else other than Ben.

No but usually the last few years it's been the punter holding and if Harvin is going to make the team then new holder means establishing that comfort level where he can get it down, spin it and be ready for Boz to be money.

Too bad Ben didn't have robotic arms or legs in the Cleveland game.

During a live game? Don't think so. During camp, minicamp, OTA'S or practice? Probably a time or two.

The only logical thing in this is Ben won't be holding for him in 3 months and I doubt a vet needs needs to be comforted during practice. The guy who was supposed to be holding may have been in the locker room taking a dump and Ben was was close by and volunteered to fill in. No one knows.

Yeah you are probably right. Totally unrelated topic are you interested in skydiving at all Steel Hog because I just took an online course in how to pack parachutes and am looking to start a service?
