First practice is in the books. Couple of “minor” injuries to two significant starters that Tomlin won’t name and guys still working after practice, you love to see that.

Injuries to Ben and JuJu. Neither sound serious.

I at least thought Ben would wait until camp to get hurt.

Is there even a competition at Center?

Watched Ben and Greene at the very start practicing snaps together and this was before the practice actually started with the warm ups.

In my opinion I'd say nope and probably not a competition at any spot along the OL. I think Klemm already has his starters and basically is just waiting for Banner to be cleared to play Ever thing beyond that is jockeying for spots on the depth chart.

    I am

Hard core. Grew up on the north side of Pittsburgh.

Although, because of my wife, during the summer I grow poblanos, big Jim’s and NewMex6 to make Chile Rellenos.

Someone born in the Pittsburgh area. Some people in Pittsburgh like to say the word "yinz".

    Hmm....

Starting to see why Mr. Pierre is being praised constantly. Still too early to draw any major conclusions but James is making a name for himself thus far. Going to be interesting to see how much more he can get noticed and improve overall as the days near to Training Camp.

Building off the end of last season. Might be one of those gem UDFA’s.

    Hope he keeps it up.

In the interest of being fair I feel compelled to point out that there was a lot of media and fan love for Artie Burns his first two years in OTA's minicamp and into camp because he kept going after AB and had some success and some not successful sessions.

This tempers my football in shorts evaluation of players....

Of course not as much as the fact that I don't evaluate players.

Let us hope Pierre is. Who knows how much longer Haden has given his age and never mind his injury history?! Pierre developing well bodes very well for the teams future outlook.

As if they are uncommon lately?

Thought I just read yesterday that Hassenauer has been taking all first team snaps over Green and Finney

    HACK

    EDIT: found the article https://steelersdepot.com/2021/06/j...enter-at-otas-feels-like-he-would-be-starter/

I was basing it also on the fact he climbed the depth chart and leapt Layne for playing time at the end of last season.

It’s a low bar with Layne but still, I think they may have something in Pierre.
