I don't think anybody knows who is going to be QB1 at this point.

I hope these two youngsters really develop and this turns into a very strong quarterback room.

That article has to be written by AI, because I'm sure Howard isn't allowed at rookie minicamp this year.

AI says Howard is at camp. The roster that I found does not list him. But there are actually veterans attending 'rookie' mini camp. I'll guess he's likely there since it's a voluntary team function. But like I said, I don't find his name on the camp roster.

Give it to the young guys. Keep Mason.

If they flop, pick a qb high next year.

Let Rogers sign elsewhere and take the comp pick.

There are some vets that are trying to make a roster like Claypool was at the Packers rookie camp IIRC.

Yes — Will Howard is allowed and has been participating in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie camp. In fact, he was a key part of the team’s quarterback development in 2025, even though his rookie season was cut short by a right-hand injury that prevented him from seeing any preseason action Steelers.com.

After returning to practice in October 2025, Howard was activated to the 53-man roster on Nov. 12 and served as the backup to Mason Rudolph in Week 12 when Aaron Rodgers was injured Steelers.com. He also took part in voluntary minicamp workouts in April 2026, where he and Rudolph “split all the reps” under coach Mike McCarthy, showing he was still in the quarterback competition TribLIVE.com.

At training camp, Howard made notable plays, including perfect passes to tight ends and deep completions, and was praised for his attitude and willingness to learn from Aaron Rodgers Sports Illustrated+1. His participation in both regular camp and voluntary minicamp confirms he was not only allowed but actively involved in the Steelers’ QB development process.

In short, Howard was not just present — he was competing for a spot in the quarterback room and contributing on the field during his rookie year.
