We have let a trader infiltrate us :getsick: Grew up on the wrong side. Now it makes sense why we always lose to the Cowboys. Just imagine if we get the old school rivalry Super Bowl... Cowboys vs. Steelers. You don't think the kid in Mike Tomlin wants the Cowboys to win?

I'm joking but seriously he should have left that out. I know he used it to set up his shot at Bradshaw but he should have just said "But what do I know I grew up a Hollywood Henderson fan"

It was just pointless to say. Not like he gained any extra fans from Steelers Nation by saying he grew up a Dallas fan.

I think Tomlin was really P. O. about what Bradshaw said. He doesn't typically go for a blow like that. He usually just brushes it off, and out the door it goes.

    Not this time.

don't blame him. I think bradshaw was out of bounds in saying this. I mean I know he isn't everyones favorite but the numbers don't lie. he is a good coach and one of the top in league right now

The Super Bowl is on Fox and Bradshaw usually is the one who does the trophy presentation of the winning team. That will make things very interesting if it happens to be the Steelers up there on that podium on February 5th.

That I would love to see. And boo to Tomlin saying he was a cowgirls fan. I would have kept that to myself.

How old is Tomlin? He was like 4 years old when Cokehead Henderson was making those disparaging comments about TB so how could he have "grown up" a Henderson fan?

It was a joke and a shot at Bradshaw since Henderson one time said Bradshaw couldn't spell the word CAT if you spotted him the C and the A.

But Bradshaw was asked if he was a "great coach". I think the thing that ticked people off was the "great cheerleader" and "I don't know what he does" part. Ike Taylor came to Tomlin's defense last night and DeCastro was also unhappy with what Bradshaw said. The funny thing is that Whitlock basically agreed with TB but people are giving all the jazz to TB. Tomlin himself said he doesn't consider himself a "great" coach but he was kinda over a barrel as to how to answer that one since he could also come off sounding pretty dang pompous.

I'm sure it was a dig at Bradshaw. Who cares which team he rooted for as a kid? As a kid, I rotted for the Raiders and then the Chargers. Then I came to my senses!

All Bradshaw had to do is say he didn't think Tomlin was a great coach. He could have given some of his reasons why, but he didn't. The rest of what he said was disrespectful on both personal and professional levels. And the disrespectful comments were coupled with something to the effect of, "... I don't know anything about him (Tomlin)..." Disrespecting someone that you admit you don't know anything about is rather suspicious behavior.

The cowgirls are known for their cheerleaders , so it make sense that MT is a fan of them. He coaches like one.

Yeah if he would have left it at I don't think he is a great coach that would have been fine. But then he had to go on and call Tomlin a cheerleader and say "I really don't know what he does over there on the sidelines." Bradshaw has a way of making a lot of enemies with the stuff he says and it appears he has made a few more with these kinds of comments.

This whole thing keeps bringing me back to that Noll quote that we have been talking about. Decastro saying it motivates them to prove Bradshaw wrong. I'm sorry DD but if the playoffs and potential Superbowl arent motivation enough then you are going to get fired. This is beyond silly.

Noll used to motivate players by telling them they just weren't any good and needed to get on with their life's work. Sometimes he meant it and at other times just wanted them to work harder and prepare better.

Maybe in Bradshaw's somewhat warped way of thinking, that's exactly what he was trying to accomplish with Mike Tomlin here. Tomlin and his teams have underperformed the last several years and one fortunate playoff win in six seasons confirms that. Maybe this will ignite a little fire in Tomlin's belly that will make him work harder and prepare better than in seasons past.

    Just a theory.
