Torn groin is no excuse for not being as deep as the deepest man as a free safety, especially in the red zone. He's right about one thing: I don't care.

Grad was looking sharp. That's what we have him for. He should have at least had that series to finish

Well, a torn groin certainly explains all the stupid penalties he took this year. Right?

The Steelers can't say that they weren't warned.

Exactly. Why are you even out there? Put in will Allen. He played better than both polamalu and Mitchell.

Agree 100%. Ben looked dazed and weak when he came back in. Even his pre-snap cadence sounded off.

I decided during the game thread that Troy and Allen should have started and Mitchell should have been benched. I texted Tomlin about it but I think he must have been getting bad reception at Heinz tonight because he never texted me back. I'm sure next year this will be implemented though. LOL.

Wait, now he says that? was he listed every week on the injury report and did the team know this?

WTF?! Now what kind of penalties does that open up the Steelers to?

keep shamarko and completely overhaul the safety spot. we had more safeties than corners this year with nobody looking competent enough to carry the backside of the defense. we even tried cam heyward. yes cam heyward was in the end zone on that TD Mitchell gave up. WHY? why was he not rushing the passer? that was the stupidest defense I've ever seen. our best pass rusher in coverage. c'mon man.:cool:

So why did he play if he was hurt? Especially in a position you have to be able to run!

Actually some of us have been saying he takes bad angles this whole year. Bad groin or not no excuse for a pro safety

Bad groin doesn't explain bad tackling, either.

Well, if he was aiming for the waist, he was a little high. As far as playing with the injury, lots of players do it. It's not an excuse for how he played. If it wasn't serious enough for the injury report, which I suspect everyone on the team had injuries that weren't serious enough for the injury report, than it's not an excuse.

I agree with an earlier response, that Mitchell played better when Allen was on the field. He wasn't able to cover the whole field the way Clark used to be able to.

Seems to me Mitchell is better at making excuses than plays. I hope he changes in the offseason / training camp, otherwise we need to draft a thumper at S
