Yeah, he was so afraid of getting hit they finished the season strong and won the division. You had fans posting before last season he wouldn't make it through the season yet he did .

    Yep.

An owner who prioritizes being competitve in the short term above all else so the team doesn't take the risks that are likely required to excel in the medium to long term.

    I politely disagree.
No single person is more responsible for a win , or a loss that is on the field, in most circumstances ,than the Qb.

And in 2.46 seconds, the Qb will be checking down, screens , or quick hitters a hell of a lot .
It's very hard to run many routes in that time.

2.46 is his average for the whole year. So it was a hell of a lot. It's very hard to run many complete routes in that time.

He made it through the season because he got rid of it so fast. He won't be younger next season, and will likely be even more afraid of getting hit.
Don't get me wrong, he like Ben still has the mind, and the arm, but like Ben, He's afraid of getting hit now, and for the 100th time it's hard to run many routes in 2.46 seconds. The fastest man in the NFL is barely getting 20 yards in a straight line in that time, let alone actually running a real route on a DB harassing them.

    Why not?
We are talking football mind, not chemical composition, music theory, or rocket science. Probably as a straight up IQ Rogers has him beat, but just football mind, seeing the field, and knowing where to go with it, Ben was better than people give him credit for. There's a reason why guys like DJ, and Claypool looked legit when Ben played, and turned into jokes as soon as he retired.
