And they can't blame 'age' as a factor because that defense is not old.

Yep. Just like almost every other team right now. 3rd and 1 with no Derek Henry on the field is not a defensive injury issue though.

Every team in the league is missing seven defensive starters, their left tackle, and has a star quarterback trying to play through a hamstring problem?

    it may be.

we could win the division, by default. NFC is looking stronger. BUFF being the juggernaut, still in the AFC.

    Ravens are a MASH UNIT

First, you're mis-reading again. I said 'almost every other team'.

Second, obviously their injury issues won't match exactly, so what's your point with that line?

Third, Yes, almost every team in the league is dealing with key injuries right now.

    Fourth, F@&k the Ravens!

Smith out, not sure how long.

the BIG ONE is the NT, Madabeque - or whatever - neck injury, some rumors his career may be over, sad for the young guy.

VERY TOUGH hill for the Ravens to climb -

My point is that while every team has significant injuries, some situations are worse than others. I'm shedding no tears for the Ravens, but I know better than to write them off.

Just finding this out. That really sucks for him if it is career ending. Football completely aside.

I don't think anyone is writing them off. I do find it interesting that their troubles fall into the category of excuses for many on here, while other teams that have key injuries are simply bad teams in those same eyes.

The Ravens have the absolute best rushing offense in the league currently. That's my opinion. So when they keep throwing the ball early and often, I can't put them losing games on injuries. They have the ability to eat clock for long drives and score more often than not. Their current issues fall more to leadership deficiencies, IMO. And no excuse for that.

The browns are doing browns things.
The bengals are without Joey and have no defense
The ravens are 1-3 with no Lamar and a defense that is ravaged by injuries.

it’s going to be an interesting season

I agree that poor decisions are also part of the problem, but their defense has been gutted and the Chiefs took advantage.

So many times we have looked ahead and counted a win against a team we were sure to beat. Alas we lost. When it happens Tomlin takes a lot of crap for not having the team prepared.

I know only 2 Packer fans and they had that Brown game as a sure win and were talking about being 3-0 headed to Cowboys.

We do a lot of things as fans that we project onto the team. I'm guilty too. I really don't think the team, as a whole, overlooks other teams. I think most of those guys study their matchups the same way week to week.

After the way the Seahawks lost in week 1, I thought we would win big at home. Turns out the Seahawks aren't a bad team after all.

The Ravens have already lost 3 games and will probably lose 3 more the rest of the season and finish 11-6. That means after one home playoff game they are going to have to go on the road twice and win if they want to reach the Superbowl. That's a tough uphill climb they have in front of them.

Well let's see. They have Packers, Rams and Texans. On paper they seemed to be their hardest upcoming games. Oh wait a minute, how could I forget the 2 loses to the Steelers;)

Not every team in the NFLs Qb can't play when they tweak one of their legs. Many Qbs play through that, but many Qb don't have to rely on there legs as much as Lamar Jackson. We have seen many, many, many Qbs play with braces, and ankle sprain, yet Lamar Jackson missed a whole end of a season with an ankle sprain.

And there are posters here who in the past ignore that and decide yards given up are more important

Although they are not very intelligent posters

Lamar having that hamstring injury not only limits Lamar but Baltimore's Offense as a whole. Lamar cannot get that part of his body hit severely again or it is going to be bad. While the Ravens do play the Texans next, don't count out Houston; their Defense especially.

Top Three unit in all of Football. What has been letting down Houston is their Offense.
