    Anything for the right price…..

In the end it seems as though the Steelers are hell bent on trying to make KP work so unless whoever comes in is good being a backup

    I would not Franchise Baker.
But if I am Tampa, I do make a good offer. He was coming on in that system.

Mayfield would be a nice addition if they were looking for a starter. They are not. He would cost more as a #2 then they will pay.

Maybe a Minshew, Tannehill or Mason for 5 to 6 mill. Not 30 to 40 mill.

They are going with Pickett for better or worse. He will be in his 3rd year and as a 1st round pick he will get the benefit of the doubt.

And to waste picks on Fields in which the Bears will be drafting a QB in the 1st has zero leverage. If he comes in as a release so be it. They are giving up on him so we can bring him in to rectify :lolol: And Wilson? No to the Drama Queen

Kenny is #1 in 2024, regardless of how obvious it is to the rest of us that it's insane to bank on such this year. What has he shown in 2 years? Worse than most back ups. But Rooney and Tomlin only know one way: try to save the old ego and not admit a mistake.

Smart move by the Bucs to tag the up and coming 25 year old Antoine Winfield Jr., rather than tag Mayfield who's play has been all over the place.

Mayfield will get overpaid because of his up years, and then get released for his down years. I hope the Steelers do not get in this bidding war.

I'm sensing a retread in our midst.

And it's not Rooney and Tomlin.

The conversation this morning was tagging Baker would be somewhere around $30M. They think they can sign him $35M-$40M for 2yrs. Smarter to sign him and tag Winfield.

I am going to have to disagree with you, if they bring in a competent QB that they feel
Can compete for the Starting job, that will probably will be looking in the 30 mill
Range they dam well will give that QB every chance that KP would receive.

Take a number. What I was saying is that they are NOT going to bring in a high priced FA QB. Not going to happen.

If they sign someone for 30 mill it says they are done with Pickett in which I don't believe. Maybe after year three if he does not progress in Smiths system. And the whole competition stuff is hot air.

If KP has another meh year in 2024 maybe instead of trying for a stop gap veteran the Steelers look for a QB in the 2025 draft. Drew Allar from Penn State and Neon Deion's kid from Colorado will be first round choices next year.

I don’t know why everyone is so high on Mayfield. He has proven himself time and time again to throw picks at the very worst times. The guy is completely overrated.
