Anyone catch what Dupree said after the game when asked about the hit and asked about Miami guys wanting to fight him he said" I'd win that" he's starting to get a edge about him like Harrison and other former Steeler greats....gotta love that.

I was surprised Moore was able to come back into the game after that hit, it's nice to see the Steelers defense get back to being nasty .

    the fine coming
and the fact that the talking heads will be all bitchy tomorrow and the refs will be overly protective of Smith next week

That hit was worth the penalty by Dupree, he can afford the fine that's coming. The Steelers needed to set a tone to let the Dolphins know they were going to be the more physical team today.

They were talking on CNBC Sqawk Box one day about Wikipedia pages being able to be updated by anyone Becky Quick was the female host. So she opened her Wikipedia page and damn near fainted and said who did that? I looked in fast it said Becky BigTi*S Quick. She thought Joe Kernan did it but they never found out who did

I tried to update one one day and couldn't. I can't remember what it was but I was trying to put something crazy about Burfict or somebody and it wouldn't let me do it.

He led with his head, towards a QB who threw the ball. Should've taken a different angle. I think a lot of these "new" angles are why there are so many missed tackles. Oh to be NFL royalty (cowboys, patriots, packers) and not have to worry about penalties.

    Oh, FFS.

He led with his arms and SHOULDER (looked like he was going for a wrap up). On a QB who by the rules was now a RUNNER. At point of impact, his shoulders (and head - which people can't seem to understand is above someone's shoulders and therefore will be coming along for the ride when you lead with your shoulder) hit him in the shoulders and CHEST. Moore's follow through with the throw plus the impact caused his head to snap forward and his chin to come down on top of Dupree's helmet. Hell, Dupree was even twisting away to keep his shoulder first.

He never led with his head. The hit took place 0.04 seconds after the ball was released. First contact was with his shoulder and arms. Moore was outside the box and RUNNING. By every definition, this is a clearly LEGAL hit. They flagged the result. Plain and simple. And if Dupree gets fined, the team should pay it for him. The fine will be BS too.

Oh, and PS to Miami fans whining about this:

If that hit was on Ben, not only would he have bounced right up, but no flag would ever have been thrown. If you think Ben gets those calls, you've never seen the Steelers play. Every single rule in the NFL protecting defenseless players and QBs all have an addendum: "1A - unless said player is Ben Roethlisberger."

1B reads, "Or Cam Newton." ;)

One tough Hombre, he was decleated. Excellent hit I'll bet Silverback got a charge out of that one.

I was there live and they never replayed the hit. I had to look for it elsewhere when I got home to find it.
Live it looked like he came in as Moore was throwing the ball. On tape it shows pretty much the same thing.
I don't agree with the penalty because as mentioned elsewhere Moore is a runner at this point. He's outside the tackle box and has no protection as a QB. I think the violence of the hit is the reason the flag was thrown, even though you can't (shouldn't) flag a player for playing with violence.
That being said, I'm rather surprised Dupree wasn't ejected. He had just been flagged for the hit, and then was getting into it in the scrum with the other players. I get playing with emotion, and being pumped up. But I also think that players need to learn to control themselves. He should have removed himself from the situation instead of continuing to jaw at the opposition. Eventually the NFL is going to make an example of someone when they're ejected for 2 personal foul penalties. I'd rather it not be a Steeler it happens to.
