Ok I am lost, why are we bringing up old threads, especially
players that don't play for the Pgh. Steelers?

Can you guys imagine if Levis had been benched, Rudolph starts the game, only to get beat by Willis?

Oh, the glorious explosion of heads!

Something to be said for coaches who can look at a player and assess what they need and how best to teach them rather than pounding a square peg into a round hole over and over. Both Willis and Darnold enjoying new success under innovative teaching coaches.

Well fingers crossed on that one, I hope he continues to improve but the track record that last 17 years shows QB development isn't a strength of Tomlin's coaching philosophy. Maybe this is the year that it becomes one. I'm optimistic about the chances.

I'm not so sure its innovative coaching for either of them, I think there would need to be more of a sample size to see that one place is doing something that they didn't get in the other... I think for Willis, he's just getting a heavy dose of "run the ball" and the teams they've played against are really bad against the run. They've been running the ball on 3rd and 5+ even and just getting the first down. Part of it is that GB is a good team outside of Love/Willis, but part of it too is that Tennessee and Indy are... not good. As for Darnold, we've seen him flash like this in Carolina only for the house of cards to come tumbling down. I think we need to see a bit more before we get too excited on either player.

That being said, good for both of them, though. New situations and positions for them to succeed, so it is great to see a couple of guys who have been heavily doubted get to show out a bit.

I think the difference between the New York sports market vs Minnesota can't be over stated either.

Yeah for sure... He had a really nice start in Carolina too, but that ended in disaster. I hope the Vikings stint turns out better for Darnold than Carolina did.
