The Steelers should draft this guy to replace Schobert.

Like I said. A lot of great picks out there in the 1st, 2nd rounds, and 3rd rounds. Really the whole draft.
It's not when You pick ..
    It's who You pick.

Clark is 6'4", 240 lbs with elite speed. Whoever drafts him will improve their defense substantially.

I wouldn't mind Clark being the 1st round pick. Looks like a guy that can come in and start day 1.

1/15/22: Clark was a tackling machine in 2021, sitting at No. 2 in tackles this year and shooting up draft boards. Team sources have been raving about Clark, saying his skill set is similar to Micah Parsons'. While Parson is more explosive and violent as a tackler, Clark has better instincts. They think Clark could be a more athletic and more physical version of Zach Cunningham, who led the NFL in tackles early in his career. Clark is a future three-down starter who is a sideline-to-sideline tackling machine and can good contribute well in coverage.

In 2021, Clark totaled 136 tackles, two forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, one interception and two passes defended. He had 63 tackles in 2020 and 49 in 2019 to go along with 3.5 sacks. The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder has excellent size to go along with quickness and athleticism. He could be a riser during the 2022 NFL Draft process.

7/10/21: Clark held his own in 2020, forming a nice tandem with Jabril Cox. Clark has the potential to rise taking on a bigger role now that Cox has departed for the NFL. With his size and speed, Clark could continue the LSU tradition of strong linebacker play.

    This.

Maximize the picks you make. The Steelers have been historically known to fulfill this quota to the tee. Some off years off course but their successes far outweigh their failures without question.

Damone Clark is the second rated BUCK and the fourth overall rated Linebacker on the Top Five Positional Rankings (coming soon!!). If he had the instincts and football IQ that Darrian Beavers possessed, he would be easily the best LB in the class.... and it would not be even close. That said, expect him to test off the charts come the combine as his athleticism and speed are legit on tape. His major issue though is his over aggressiveness and slowness to diagnose his keys when filling in those rushing lanes. Make no mistake though; Clark is coming full speed with hell raising intentions.

Worth a second round pick for certain; a trade even.

I like Clark to the Steelers, but I wouldn't take him in the first round.

He will be gone before we pick in the 2nd, IMO.

This is an odd year. Ratings for players seem to be all over the place depending on which sites you go on.

I have used Walter football as my draft guide for years. They have Clark listed as their #1 middle linebacker. The Jets have two early 2nd round selections and the consensus seems to be that they will use one on Clark if he's there.

Who know for sure?. These are just things I have been reading researching the Jets for the board draft.

The value isn't there to take him in the first round, I would take my chances that he would be there in the second round.

I agree. Personally I think if Linderbaum is there you almost have to take him.

What's crazy 2 me ...is...I've seen a few mocks on NFL network showing us taking an edge rusher in the 1st. Seems like He'd have 2 be the edge rusher of all edge rushers... ever... for us 2 take one in the 1st round.

I think Bucky Brooks from NFL Network had the Steelers taking an edge rusher in the first round of his mock draft .

i'd love to see some more speed from clark and the position. 4.74 with the way we have our ILB's matched up on the other teams number 1. he's a talent but..... this ain't football on the bayou. that's vince williams speed.

Well Walt must read the board, as he recently revised his ILB ratings. Walter Football now has it...

    1 Nakobe Dean
    2 Devin Lloyd
    3 Quay Walker
    4 Damone Clark

He has all four listed as 1st to 2nd rounders. I found it interesting that he has Quay Walker in this mix and not Christian Harris. WF has Harris as a 2nd to 3rd round guy.

People are enamored with Devin Lloyd and his 40 is listed at 4.75. I am anxious to see what these guys actually run this week.

2/26/22: Lloyd amassed 111 tackles, eight sacks, one forced fumble, four interceptions and six passes defended in 2021. Team sources who like Lloyd say he is big, long and athletic. They feel he has good instincts, but is not overly twitchy. He is physical and has good length to play off blocks. Lloyd had made some impressive plays in coverage and as a rusher in 2021. He has a quality skill set and looks like a safe pick to be a quality starter. If he doesn't go in the first round, Lloyd should at least be a high second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

7/17/21: Lloyd flashed in 2019, logging 6.5 sacks with 91 tackles for the Utes. He wasn't as good in 2020, but he still flashed on occasion. Lloyd needs to return to his 2019 form to have a shot at the pros.

When did he run a 4.74? Linebackers don’t run at the combine until Saturday, and his pro day will be after that. Many draft websites show 40 times that have never actually been run until the real times are run and posted.

I think Mac got that time from the bio I posted, which was projected. I am eager to see what he ACTUALLY runs. It is kind of hard to project a 40 time IMO. LOL
