First, it is well documented that we just don't geenrate much pressure this yr. But when we do, everyone seems to really over-pursue. How do we contain bliztes and not let up the middle cut-backs or QB draw kill us? Our middle line (yes Casey) is soft as hell this yr. Second thing is how do we defend TE's in the middle of the field? All of the successful teams are using multiple TE's over the short to intermidate middle to KILL teams (i.e. NE, NO, GB). None of our middle LB's can cover them. Farrior can't, Foote is ok but older and slow, and Timmons is completely useless. So how do you deal with that and gameplan for it DIck LeBeau? Must figure out to do well.

I have not seen any good blitzes from this team. The same old cross dog inside blitz from the inside backers that haven't did anything. I know we draft Dlineman to control gaps but we need to draft some that has some pass rush ability. Woodley and Harrison can't get there all the time. Lebeau needs to go back with the Zone blitz scheme. I see more ingenuity from the Ryan brothers and the Packers. When was the last time you seen a corner blitz and the NT drops into coverage. Or the two inside linebackers rush up the middle and everybody else drops into coverage or stack one side and the blitz comes from the other and the stack side drops into coverage. We have the corners to do it now. Gay is playing better, Ike is Ike and Keenan Lewis and Cortez Allen are playing to standard

This times x1000!!! The defense form the 90's had 3 linemen who were equally as disruptive as the linebackers, and their blitzes were way more creative back then too. We need to rely on creativity and speed to win. We don't have the bruisers the Ravens and 49ers have. They lack creativity in this department nowadays.

It really is only limited to Troy moving around, but he doesn't even do that very often anymore. I though Timmons was going to move around and rush the passer in different spots, but that just doesn't happen.

I would even go as far as maybe we shouldn't have let Capers go. Or even Horton. They are running the blitzes better than Lebeau. I don't think there defensive is as good as ours, but more often then we do, they get to the quarterback off some well-design blitz. Lebeau rather sit back in coverage. Which is all well and good but sometimes you got to send something different then the cross-dog, fire zone blitz up the middle.
