Are we currently on the longest stretch without a play off win for a long time?

    Time to change that.

well, I had stated last week that Tomlin is the longest sitting HC w/o one. that is a fact, Jack.

does that get longer this week, or end - we will see.

Things could be much worse (from 2022)
    1. Detroit Lions | 30 years (1992)
    2. Miami Dolphins | 21 years (2001)
    3. Las Vegas Raiders | 19 years (2003)
    4. Washington Football Team | 16 years (2006)
    5. New York Jets | 11 years (2011)
    6. Chicago Bears | 11 years (2011)
    7. New York Giants | 10 years (2012)
    8. Denver Broncos | 6 years (2016)
30 years is a long, long, long time.

And some teams like Washington, it is a yearly thing when your season is over after week 6. Imagine having to suffer that for 10 years or so... even 2 is excruciating.

of course they could be much worse.

and they could (could have been) be much better.

watching the Ravens (win it all?) this year may make us a little hungrier, realizing their organization is surpassing us since they became one, in 1997. certainly as FANS, we are hungry. is Rooney?

the updated list would remove the Giants. That means only 7 teams are worse than the Steelers and 24 teams are better. The Steelers don't have to be 32nd to start complaining. Miami and the Lions might come off the list this weekend.

Everyone I know whose team is out of Playoffs is on the Lions bandwagon. Hell I'm on it too. I'd love to see them in the SB.

Better is harder to do in the hardest division in the last decade. Y'all need to start realizing Tomlin is a top 20 coach of all time with 500+ behind him.

There's literally so many coaches hired that are in easier divisions that are not making it in a post season. Heck some are eliminated weeks before the final regular season game.

So yes, things could have been better. But the odds are severally against it..... so the truth is, odds are more in favor of it being drastically worse.

Only John Harbaugh and Andy Reid were coaching their teams the last time the Steelers won a playoff game. The other 29 teams have replaced their coach since the Steelers last playoff win.

I hope so. The talking heads on ESPN, NFL Network and FS1 are hardly even talking about Steelers/Bills. All the other wildcard games... they're spending lots of time covering.

    Agree, but thinking and typing.....
Pittsburgh rarely goes out a gets 'that player' that puts them up a notch like SF, LA, and others have done.
That's probably cost them a playoff game or two, maybe.
EX: SF grabbing Sanders to specifically eliminate Dallas, result SF destroys Dallas. Dallas grabs Haley and Sanders etc...
Sometimes you just need that one player like an Arron Donald...

Last time Steelers got a game changer was Ben Roethlisberger. Hasn't happened since.

In the last 3 Steelers playoff losses, one the coach was overconfident, one the team was outcoached, and one the team was out-talented. I have zero confidence in the Steelers winning because of recent history bias.

No, he is a homegrown player.
I'm talking about a scenario where the team looks great in camp and maybe the first game or two.. somewhere in there they go out a sign Aaron Donald who just happens to be still on the FA market.
That kind of scenario, where you feel you just need that one player. Pittsburgh really hasn't done that.

    **Maybe the Bus...

I doubt that a few more playoff wins would appease the fans that focus on this nonsense.

It's much better to appreciate the winning seasons and playoff births until the organization can build a championship winner.

So are the Steelers 9th on that list? If so that leaves what,23 with more recent success?

    Dad - "No"
Kid - "Please! I'll be good!"
Dad - "Well little Timmy's dad beats him and Johnny's dad lost his job and can't afford it. Things could be worse. Be happy with with nothing."
