And they started talking about the World's hit. Golic said that he's read a report that in the off season they're going to discuss reviewing those calls.

I think they should be challengable on part on coach's red flag. If you win two Challenges you win a 3rd anyway. If you lose costs you a timeout. It wouldn't slow the game down, really.

    Disagree.

It's not a very common call (but has devastating results when called). 100% reviewable. No challenge needed. This includes hits on receivers. And pass interference. We're talking about game changing penalties here.

After all, they often allow a drive to continue. So I see it as a change of possession type deal. All turnovers and scoring plays are reviewed in the booth automatically inside of 2 minutes (even though we often don't see it). Same should be done here, but at any time.

So you are saying have them all reviewed from upstairs?

Saw him rant about it. Didn't hear that part.

Predictably, the hit wasn't shown nor talked about on the highlight shows...

The hit on Wilson was. You could argue that one may have cost them the game. The one called against the Pats last week had zero effect on their game, but it was a travesty of epic proportions that everyone wailed and gnashed their teeth about.

I suppose I should be happy that at least Golic even mentioned ours...

Yes. All "hit" penalties. And PI calls.

Just as they do inside 2 minutes. What many fans don't realize is they review everything quickly. Then buzz the refs saying "take a closer look at this" if it looks like it needs it. Only then do fans see the refs stop to review it. But there's always someone reviewing upstairs.

The alternative (but less desirable IMO) is to give the coaches more challenges (say, 4 with a 5th if all 4 go your way), and make those calls challengeable. Is that a word? :lolol:

Agree, all PF penalties should be automatically reviewed, would only take a couple seconds to determine.

Yeah, I thought that was amusing that they were talking about Worilds hit but kept showing the Wilson hit. Heaven forbid they show Steeler footage on the Patriots network :lolol:

I've heard this before, too. As slow as this game has become, and as much as officiating has relied on replay, I think this might be a good thing. These bad calls dramatically change the course of a game. A 30 second review from upstairs could do a lot of good.

Was no different then the show Ben took in the Ravens game when he got air knock out of him earlier this season.

Disagree for PI. That's just too many reviews and will slow the game down too much. What I would like to see is 2 different PI calls. Blatant PI and non-blatant PI (call it whatever you want, but you get the idea). The blatant one would result in the ball being placed at the spot of the foul. The other is a 5 or 10 yard penalty resulting in a 1st down. That should more or less nullify those ticky tacky PI calls. Teams can recover from a 5-10 yard penalty even if it is ticky tacky, but these 40 yard penalties are just brutal, especially when it's just 2 guys both arm fighting for the ball.

    I could live with that.

Not sure they'd be any more consistent though. They tried that with facemasks, and eventually just made it a PF worth 15 yards regardless.

I think it was different. Upshaw speared Big Ben with the crown of the helmet, which is a penalty. Putting your facemask in the QBs chest is just plain good tackling.
