I can't wait to see how this draft unfolds,
what an exciting event. I probably care way too much about the Steelers. As I get older you would think the interest would wane. I guess I just have a passion for football. Here is hoping the Steelers have a successful draft and get the pieces together to seriously challenge for a Superbowl.

Me too! I don't leave the couch on Saturday. I love the draft. I have like 800 posts on this board and I bet 600 of them are draft-related. :smiley1: I had such a good time on the draft thread last year, TTF should have charged a cover.

This may be the most important draft we have had in a LONG time. We are placing pieces in a D which needs totally revamped due to so many vets going in the last few years.

Think about how many former starters are now gone (since the end of the 2012/2013 season):

    Keisel
    Hampton
    Hood
    Foote
    Woodley
Harrison (shouldn't be a starter any more)
    Ike
    Troy
    Clark
    Lewis

That is 10 of the 11 starters from that season, now not with the team. THAT right there is a HUGE turnover, and you know what....it shows. This year like no other, the draft is going to help shape the team on that side of the ball.

I look at the draft this year especially like getting the new teaser trailer for the new Star Wars movie two weeks ago. Makes you all tingly and excited but then you realize you have to wait six months to see the movie. The draft will be exciting and we will have new pieces to speculate on but it will be a few months till we see what they can do with the team. It's almost like a strip tease.

Best time of the sports year for me as I just love the draft and always have. I'm taking Friday off, as is customary, but probably won't be as involved as in years past (there was a time recently when I would watch EVERY pick.) I wont watch any of Saturday, but should be able to get most of the 1st through 3rd.

I start the countdown for the next draft the minute Mr. Irrelevant is announced.

The draft is always fun to watch. I was looking at some of the Steelers drafts and 1975 shows how hit and miss the draft can be. One year after the greatest NFL draft ever these were the 1-5 round picks.

    1. Dave Brown DB
    2. Bob Barber DE
    3. Walter White LB
    4. Harold Evans LB
    5. Brent Sexton DB

I am pretty pumped up about the draft, but I have a few problems. First is every year I have a guy I hope and pray will fall to us, this year I don't have a guy for the 1st round. I do want Holliman later in the draft but as for the 1st round the best I can wish for is Waynes or Beasley to fall. The other thing is I will be around for tomorrow and Friday but Saturday I will be gone and not by a tv for the draft, :-( I do want to say I have had a blast here talking draft with you all it has been a pretty good time and I am excited to talk draft the next two days. Let's go Steelers!!!!!!!

One of my favorite sporting events for sure. I still remember clipping articles out of the newspaper when I was younger so I could read about who the Steelers drafted. Unfortunately it was the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Akron Beacon Journal and was highly centered on the Browns.

Later when it was on TV, didn't they always take a commercial break right when the Steelers picked? lol!
