Not surprised at all. At least if things don't work out with the Jets he will have his rap career to fall back on.

It may not even take that long, I can see them trading him and eating some of his salary. Gase doesn’t want him, never did.

I’m still waiting for the all the Bell supporters to admit how wrong they were. Especially the the young DB from NC.

I thought Bell made his intentions very clear when he said he wasn't interested in playing under the tag two years in a row, missed training camp and preseason, then missed those again and the entire season the next year. He also skipped the walk-throughs for the Jax playoff game.
I wasn't a Bell supporter btw, I was a 'what the he!! is the Steelers front office thinking-er'.

I was thinking more towards the “pay the man, he’s worth it” crowd.

The Jets were probably the worst team he could have went to, as far as knowing what he was worth.
I agree he wasn't worth what the Steelers offered him, just based on the amount of time he was willing to sit out.

    Hey groutbrook.

Bell has a very unique running style. We all know that. I knew, and probably some here as well, that the Jets were not going to be the right fit for him regarding this. His grand scheme of a payday never worked out for him as he sat out with us. He turned many of us off. I get it. He also did what he thought he needed to do from a "Business" standpoint. In the end, he sadly (for me) parted ways with us. And also in the end his career has been anything but productive once he left us. Him along with AB (I just have the two attached at the hip) blew it big time here. If they stayed, I believe that they would have helped to lead us to a ring or two; especially now with our new and improved Defense. Oh well, what could have been. Both had HOF careers going in the right direction here in Pittsburgh. Get that ring or two and each would have probably been a “shoo-in” for Canton. What a shame.

Bells story should be a lesson to others on how to completely sabotage their playing career. I mean he still did get paid but he missed out on a 2/3 year stretch of dominance.

Bell, Bryant and Brown. Three ginormous PITA's to Steeler nation toward the end of their tenures who have done pretty close to nothing since they left. Two currently out of the league and Bell now whining about his situation in NY. Who made who?

No I believe because of his support for Bell and AB and the belief that one shouldn't say anything negative about a brother getting his max amount of money that it sorta makes people believe he played the same position but he has always maintained he plays defensive back.

At one point this guy wanted 17 mil. Something tells me in about 10 years he will wish he had 17 dollars.

Best days are behind him for sure. Jets will almost certainly cut him at the end of the season, nobody is trading for his contract unless the Jets pay a significant portion of the salary.

That’s not even the worst contract on their books, the deal they gave CJ Mosley is insane, and he has hardly played for them, LOL

I don’t know if Bell will be bothered playing again after that because I don’t imagine that he will get any offers above a couple of million. I bet he retires quietly.

Funniest thing about Bell is he never wanted to go to NY and went there anyway.

His greed has really served him well. In the end, took less money to play on a team he didn’t want to play for with a coach that doesn’t want him either.

Could still be a top RB in the league playing for the Steelers.
