If I remember correctly, he played well in that game until he got clocked. Isn't that the one game Lamar has a win against us?

Yes, Duck Hodges came in and played well and had them in a position to win in OT but Juju fumbled the ball as the Steelers were nearing FG range.

This week we need stickem on our guys hands. We averted two near disasters last week with both WR's. These players need to be situationally smart. Fighting for an extra yard after a big play isn't smart if guys are trying to strip you at the same time, take the win and move the chains. They cannot turn the ball over this week, no pre-snap penalties putting Mason in 3rd and long avoid being baited into personal foul shi$ after the play. Play like veterans. Lastly, if Cole is snapping low again during this game he should be fired a 3rd time already. This is the little stuff that the coaches need to emphasize, these mental mistakes is what kills drives and loses games!! Just cannot happen anymore!!

And let’s not forget the pass he threw on the play in which Thomas knocked him out with a helmet to helmet blow was a thing of beauty. He hung in as long as he could, knew he was going to get leveled and delivered an on the money pass! Very gutsy! He wasn’t quite the same after that and it’s no wonder. The image of him walking off the field with his facemask removed is one I’ll never forget. And what the crap was he doing WALKING OFF THE FIELD?! I think he had lingering effects of that serious concussion for weeks but inexplicably the Steelers decided that they were writing him off for good. As I’ve said before and I believe this strongly…Tomlin and the Steelers organization have botched Mason’s career!

Ravens are making a big mistake resting Lamar, will be 19? days in between starts. Guess they didnt learn their lesson the last time they did this and Tenn bounced them.
Good for us though, but in all honesty , Lamar not very good against us.

That's the game things turned south for him. He played really well in previous three games. But he also played well against Miami that year when he came back after the injury in that game against the Ravens. He had a really good start that year. And then it was kind like Pickett, against IND, RAMS, CLE, and they pulled him in CIN game.
I am actually shocked they stuck with Pickett this long after so many garbage outings.

If Rudolph continues his streak of “first pass in games against AFCN teams is an 80 yard TD” and Steelers take an early lead, it should even make Rats pull out more starters. They’d care even more about just nit getting injured.

Had to see what he looked like without Canada calling it.

For what it's worth, minus scoring, he wasn't terrible, and his passing chart seemed to be opening up like we've seen with Mason. It was like they changed what his read progression before he was injured. Have to remember he was on the injury list with that ankle late in the week after going full all week. So that was probably affecting him in that Arizona game.

Trubisky was just terrible. The same play calls, he just had terrible placement and mechanics issues.

Rudolph, is just making the reads and taking what the defense is giving him. He's made some nice throws, but he's also gotten bailed out on some of them. The RAC is through the roof though and that's incredible!

the Rats are resting 3-5 starters on D also. Very banged up. If we play decent, we ought to come away with a win.

    not easy, but a win.

weather will be some sort of factor - lots of ground game

It was a second and 7 from our own 35, and the pass was only to the 39. Not nearing field goal range.

If we somehow get in and win a wild card game, our historic ownership of LJ could get into his head when we play in the divisional round. Very big “ifs” precede that though.

There is a very easy answer to that. Right, wrong or indifferent.

    1. He's a first round pick

    2. Lack of touchdowns aside, he still wasn't throwing the ball to the other team

    3. The team was still winning games with him at quarterback, whether it was because of him or in spite of him.

#3. The point of the game is to win. Pickett is 14-10, and 14-6 when he doesn't leave the game injured and have He Who Shall Not Be Named finish up for him.

You can thank the defense for that. Kenny Pickett has only won 1 game in his whole career when the opposition scores 20 points or more and that was this season against Cleveland where we scored 12 offensive points and 14 defensive ones en route to a 26-22 win. I’d consider that 14-10/14-6 a HUGE testament to our defense.

Kenny also left a Buccaneers game in the 3rd quarter and Trubisky finished up a TD drive in his quarter and a half en route to a win. Kenny left the Ravens game on first drive so it’s hard to fault him for that, but he left the Jags game just before halftime (3 points scored, Trubisky out scored him) and with a minute left in the 3rd quarter against the Texans having only scored 6 points and down 2 scores. Hard to give him a pass for those losses, as his poor play was a good part of those losses. You can manipulate stats how you want to paint a certain picture, but the truth is usually somewhere inbetween.

The point is to win games, and you’re far more likely to win games when you score points. Kenny has struggled immensely to do that.

Tough words for a guy who’s team already lost to us with their healthy first team in earlier this season lol

I didn't move the goalposts. Early last week, I wasn't aware just how bad Seattle's defense has been the last 10 games. Hey, if you want to full yourself into thinking Mason Rudolph should be the starter next year because he was good against a couple of terrible defenses, that's your error.

Good point. Both fumbles last week happened because the receivers were trying to do too much. Pickens was reaching back to stiff arm the defender when the ball was knocked loose. I'm still not sure what Johnson was trying to do, but just hanging on to the ball and letting himself fall out of bounds would have been the right approach.

I'm not sure Cole can be fixed at this point. Let's hope Rudolph keeps bailing him out as Pickett had to do earlier in the season.
