Kris Richard should be the DC

I feel like this is what Cowher did. He leaned on his coordinators I think more than we'll ever know and held their feet to the fire when they didn't produce. I'm torn because I was one of the Tomlin does nothing people and now I'm not sure what to think. Maybe he wants to do everything.

 

It's not 100% true. You never see him constantly mouthing to the green dot guy. You always see Butler working the headset during drives...

 

Exactly what I have been stating. Also the last 2 years of the HOFer LeBeau he was calling the defense. He is a control freak.

I've been beating the drum for them to hire someone from the outside. Not going to happen. He needs a puppet. Teryl Austin will be interviewing with other teams. We shall see how this plays out. If Auston stays I see them naming him.

 

Tomlin has called a lot of the defense.
But it has been so for a while as that is the way this team operates.
I'm not a huge fan of Butler, he's not the worst and not the best.
I like the way they promote from within and build a system.
But I think they might go look on the outside, though it's tough to get a read.
I think (just tossing a name out, nothing behind it) if they hired a Dan Quinn, Tomlin obviously becomes a little less involved.
So, we might be in for some lean years or maybe they strike gold.
I would love to be a DC and look at this team with Watt, and some of the other guys... they make the job easier.

At times this past season I questioned if Keith Richards was calling the defensive plays. Then again, it would have been an improvement
