Wasn’t Calvin Austin a Colbert pick? Alex Highsmith, George Pickens, Leal, Loudermilk, Conner Heyward, Mason Rudolph, Mark Robinson?

 

In that case, the odds of drafting a good quarterback are even worse.

 

All I'm saying is not only do we need to rebuild the team's players and get younger but we need to do the samething with the coaches.

 

The only thing I say to this is I feel like Tomlin mishandled the benching of Fields (young QB with potential and 4/2 record at the time) for an old 35yo Russell Wilson who doesn't offer much as far as hoping to find your future QB). Then when Wilson is struggling, Tomlin doesn't go back to Fields to hopefully kickstart the struggling offense. Then they expect to lowbell Fields and say we want to sign you instead of Wilson. If I was Fields I would have went elsewhere aswell. Not saying he could have been the future but he offered more than what we have at this time and would have given us a little stability in Smith's offense.

 

I disagree they need a QB. Everything else is in place.

They need to coach the oline better but the talent is there.

 

is it? we sure haven't seen that yet. until we change the top of the coaching ticket, we are stuck in the mud. the stars we had are aging quickly. i hope kahn is not saying it's only down to qb now. far from it.

 

I grade Khan a C and Weidl a B.

We truly haven't seem the fruits of their labor just yet and they're relying on FA and addressing the most pressing needs via the draft. I won't fully grade them until it's time for his draft classes to get 2nd contracts and the bulk of the defense is homegrown players.

Atm Khan's grade is C, because it's an incomplete grade. Missing out on a WR last year kinda kept it from being a B, like Weidl. I'm pleased with the progress, but I think we still need 2-3 drafts to be where we want this roster to be.

 

That is correct, though technically, Rudolph wasn't acquired for the current roster through the draft. He is returning as a free agent.

 

I don't disagree with this. You are right with Fautanu its hard to say, he got a season ending injury very early on, Jones didn't look great at RT, LT is suppose to be his natural spot, and a lot hinges on that spot.

With Frazier and McCormick I feel like those two were steals.

So then therefore the Standard outside of KC, and Eagles is get to the playoffs, and lose, or does this only count for the Steelers???
I watch the Ravens, and the Bills, who many , many ,many people on the board tell me has awesome Qbs, and yet I haven't seen the Ravens since Flacco was a Qb, and the Bills since Jim Kelly was the Qb make the SB....so is that their standard???

 

At least they are in the hunt each year(when Lamar is healthy in the case of the ravens)...The steelers have been down by at least 21 points in their 6 game losing streak in the playoffs.

This is embarrassing and I'm sure it's by far an NFL record.What's worse, 4 of the 6 teams that easily beat the Steelers lost their next playoff game... only the Pats in 2016, who were down 28-3 vs falcons, and the Chiefs in 2021, in the 13 seconds game against the Bills, won their next playoff game.

Also, yes, the Bills and Ravens deserve criticism, as the Bills defense has been horrible in the playoffs when they lost in the Josh Allen era, and for the Ravens, Lamar has to be better, even if this year he was good against the Bills. It was Mark Andrews who cost that game, but in other years, Lamar was disappointing.

But they're still in a different league compared to us. The Ravens have been in the divisional round in the last 4 years that Lamar Jackson had a healthy season, and the Bills have been there since 2020. The Steelers are either out of the playoffs or down by at least 21 points in the wild-card round every year.

Well if there is someone that deserves blame for Dotson's botched development in Pittsburgh, look no further than Tomlin. Sean McVay did what Tomlin couldn't do with Dotson. As a result, Dotson is one of the highest paid Guards in all of football while Pittsburgh has yet to solidify the Guard position completely.


Hopefully that is with Mason McCormick but like Kevin Dotson, he is also out of position. He needs to be Left Guard as he was with South Dakota State but Isaac Seumalo has that spot locked down.

If they are in the Hunt so are we. Get back to me when they go to a SB.....untill then they are just making the playoffs, and losing just like us. Oh wow they won one more game. LoL. No matter how You twist it....if they are not making a SB with Qbs that You , and many on here are saying are so freaking awesome, then apparently their standard I get to the playoffs, and lose.....just like us....., and we are doing it with Trubiskies, Masons, and Wilson's which everyone thinks sucks.
