I hate on Tomlin, but I will say that it can be wise to keep a player in the moment and not allow him to get a big head. It's possible he knows MR enough that giving public glory might set back his work ethic or approach (hey, I made it, coach says I'm a stud, no need to look over film or pay any real attention to the notes the OC handed me to study).

Privately, he might be saying good, but guarded things about MRs play. He isn't exactly demeaning him publicly, just maybe keeping him in check and focused.

Lets also not kid ourselves, MR has only had a cuople of solid/good games. Its not like he's a pro-bowler or something. He most likely is Fools' Gold and some team wll overpay him greatly to be starting QB in 2024-25 and likely regret that decision.

    I don't think so, #2.

Kenny has inspired exactly NO ONE (fans or players) so that is why #1 is not as bad.

post game player interviews the past 2 weeks have given us all we need to hear and know about that.....

Trust me, we get it that you don't like Pickett. It's well documented.
Not everyone has given up on Pickett like you have. I also don't have any intention of having a two-page back and forth with you trying to explain why. I feel like that subject has been driven into the ground already.

Tomlin probably thinks of Madden as below Him, and wouldn't stoop that low.

LOL No, they didn't, or at least there isn't any evidence to back that up.

    I’m
Not anointing MR a stud. Really saying MT waited too long to out MR in. Feels like coach has an issue with MR

I don’t think they’ve necessarily given up on Pickett, but they seem very happy that Rudolph is starting and playing as well as he is. The offense is thrilled because Mason simply has better command and the offense runs more smoothly with him behind center. But even the defense is happy and, as Cam put it this week, they’re appreciative of the larger margin of error they’ve had because of the points Mason is putting up. He said that’s a luxury they haven’t had or something to that effect which I thought was pretty telling.

I think it's funny how discussing quarterbacks has turned into a strictly Rudolph versus Pickett discussion for so many of us, when the real problem in many ways has been Mike Tomlin/Mitch Trubisky.

If Mike Tomlin evaluated Mitch Trubisky properly, the team may have had a different level of success over the last two seasons.

It doesn't solve everything, but the team probably makes the playoffs last season, and they would have already clinched a playoff spot this season.

Even if they started Rudolph last season, everything would have been better for this team and both Pickett and Rudolph would be better for it.

Mike Tomlin's belief in Trubisky has set this team back. There really is no other way to say it. I think everyone can agree that Trubisky is the one guy that should not have seen a snap for this football team.

Imagine how thrilled the defense is when they are not on the field every 4 downs. The 3 and outs and the inability for the offense to move the ball is a killer for this defense.

True. Trubisky cost us a playoff spot last year, and possibly this year too

Popcorn just can't muster up the courage to say Mason was the reason for the resurgence. But he continues to start him? Even though Pickett is ready to go.

Guess the bungles were afraid of the running game on that first TD pass to Pickens from Mason

Mason has shown poise, stands in there, knows when to move, has command. But its the run game only. Friggen Dolt...
