I never perceived that as taunting. I always thought he was signaling for him.

Right. He was letting their sideline know send help. Big difference between that and taunting.

You want this to be a Steeler? No thanks. And besides, he looks much more natural in prison orange than he would in black & gold.

Seriously. It's pretty homer-ish to separate the two. Those of you that loved Jack Lambert and Joe Greene can't really sit there and hate Ray for what he did to Mendenhall.

Some people's black & gold glasses really get in the way sometimes.

Yeah, if Harrison just destroyed Ray Rice or Joe Flacco and broke his shoulder, and did a little hooting afterwards I don't think anyone here would have an issue with it.

There would probably be a new forum set up just to talk about it.

    :lolol:

I don't really understand this, guys. You aren't really surprised that the majority of a team's fanbase dislikes a rival team's player are you? Especially one who is so...hmm, maybe intense is the right word?

I said what I said because to me, in this case, there was a difference. Lewis called out Mendenhall before the game and targeted him (due to some comments Mendenhall made, true). Then, after breaking his collar bone, Ray was doing a little more rejoicing than Hines was in the other instance. Ray even gloated about it in interviews afterward:

Now keep in mind when you read that, that Lewis publicly targeted Mendenhall before the game.

Not to mention this quote from Suggs:

If Ward had done the same thing including pre-game, during the game, and after the game, I would absolutely be saying the same thing about Ward, but it doesn't appear that it's the case here.

it's football, take the hit and deliver the hit. then go the h--l back to the huddle. act like you've done something before. my goodness though, they throw a flag on a guy running into the EZ if he points a finger, but they let these guys do their dance after a sack and big hit. end it all and there will be no question about it. let the fans get fired up. they don't need the dance to get excited about the play you just made. remain

Not at all. What Ray Lewis did is something most players would do after a huge hit. Linebackers love blowing up RB's, it's perhaps their absolute favourite thing to do. Ray Lewis got the better of Mendy and he celebrated that fact. Bounty or not, I'm fine with it. It was a legal hit.

I saw it and he actually looked very good in a Steelers uniform. Just think if he had played for the Steelers, he would have been a beast!
