Am watching the NFL network and they were showing a bunch of players in other teams jerseys. Then I saw Ray Lewis in a Steelers jersey. I quickly smashed my brand new 60" plasma TV to get that image off my TV. I showed them...

Seriously though, anyone else see it? It was a horrible sight.

Didn't see it. But, I wish Ray Lewis was a Steeler back in his prime, guy was down right unstoppable. Since he played for the Ravens, can't stand him, but he has done a ton for the Ravens franchise and he is a great team leader and deep down he has respect for the Steelers, I even heard him say it many times.

I don't understand why anybody wouldn't have wanted ray lewis in a steelers uniform. love him or hate him, that guy was born to be a steeler with the way he plays and his intensity/love for the game. I would've LOVED having him for 15 years!

SC - I was just about to post the same thing. I would have taken Lewis any day! In fact - to see him in a Steelers uniform would only make me think, "What could have been..."

exactly! I say the same thing about all the "hines ward haters." they're all full of it because they know darn well they would've sold their first-born child to have him in their uniform for 13 years.

Well, as much as I appreciate the guys game there is almost NO WAY I would be able to stand watching him do that stoopid dance in a Steelers uni every week.

That ridiculous hype dance is impossible to explain away and I would hate apologizing for it every week...

Oh I would have loved having the guy on the Steelers, I've said so numerous times on here and I've been blasted for it once or twice. With that said, I wouldn't want him now. The guy is a Raven no matter what jersey he puts on. The guy is our hated rival no matter what jersey he is wearing. I would have loved him before he had a 15 year career for the Ravens, but the thought of the current Ray Lewis in a Steelers jersey makes me a bit ill.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but understanding his leadership and ability to motivate - heck, if I knew we would get him for one year - and that he could be productive. I'd take him - or anyone like him.

For a while there I think Ray wished he was a Steeler too. I think in interviews he said he played as the Steelers in Madden because he like their running game. He respects the hell out of Bettis.

RayRay would have made (and could possibly still make) a great Steeler.

Ray Lewis being a Steeler would not bother me as much as Tom Brady being a Steeler. I honestly would consider just putting myself in an induced coma during football season if that were ever the case.

I wouldn't take Ray Ray right now to be a player for us but when he retires and sends his resume to be a Linebacker coach in the NFL, I would hand deliver it for him to the Rooneys if it would help any.

People talk about how great the Steelers/Ravens rivalry is because both teams are so physical and intense... We are that way, and Ray Lewis MADE the Ravens that way. He instilled a culture on their entire defense.

You can hate playing against him, but I can't hate him as a player.

While there are some things about Ray I absolutely can't stand (like the time he taunted Mendenhall after breaking his collar bone and said "get him out, he's done), I have to admit, he would fit in with the Steelers defense mindset pretty well.

Let's be frank - we all have black & gold colored glasses. Things that we find endearing about some of our stars would piss us off if they were on a rival. Would we have loved how Hines Ward always had a huge grin on his face after every play if he played for the Ravens all of these years? We'd probably hate the guy in purple, but he's an icon for us in black & gold. Don't even get me started on what many of us might think of Ben and his off season news if he played for a rival. If Ray had spent his career here, I would have loved his goofy little dance and his drooling "it's a man's game" rants. It's all about the TEAM.

Honestly I'm not a Lewis fan. I think he's a bit overrated. Yes he's a very good MLBer but only when he has a dominate DL in front of him. When his DL was avg so was he.

That pregame dance and speech is another I could do without.

The only LBer not a Steeler that I would have Loved to have been a Steeler in recent memory is Junior Seau, Now that is a Great LBer that I wished had been a Steeler!!!!!!

    RIP Junior Seau!!!!!!!!!!!

You wouldn't have to worry about that. With our O/L he'd be carried out on a stretcher the 1st quarter of the 1st game. After this year's draft god I hope those days will soon be over :praying:

Fair point, but when on earth was Ray Lewis ever average? I don't think an argument can be made to say he's overrated, even slightly, considering his play on the field as well as the culture that he created in Baltimore. Without him, we may not even be talking about the Ravens as a rival as they could just be another crappy team we have to play twice a year.

To all of you guys gushing over Ray-Ray: just be careful and don't go out to the club with him. You might find yourself lying in a pool of blood in the gutter with stab wounds and nobody saw sheeot.

That wasn't a taunt by Hines and he's said as much. He knew he was hurt and was trying to let them know right away. Lewis was so damn smug about hurting the rookie that he just had to tell everyone that he wasn't calling for help.

Toe-may-to, toe-mah-to. Ward was saying "Hey, I just jacked this guy up so you might want to take a look at him"... and we all loved every second of it.

    :hehehe:

In all honesty I don't think Ward was taunting in any way shape or form. You wouldn't know it from just watching the games but Ed and Hines have a lot of respect for each other.
