I think we will see some major shake up at years end,if you all remember whenCowher and Donohoe where here, the Rooney's fired Donohoe, I think the same scenerio is in play this year. Since the debacle in Denver a few years ago have you seen improvement in the team?
Watch closely as this LOST season unfolds I think you will see the answer. Why can't we beat the teams we are suppose to beat? Well, I think both must be held accountable, I am
    voting for both must go.

Fire the team. Fire everybody!! Well except for the players of course. They obviously have nothing to do with this seasons issues. But the coaches, staff, and management, hell yes, if we fire them immediately we will surely turn things around. Hell I say fire everyone twice!!

I'm betting they will both go at the same time ... but it won't be this year.

Stinks to say it but maybe we should start by getting rid of players who make huge amounts of money but don't produce at all. Woodley is the first one that comes to mind.

I know. Not even one tackle in the game. Someone on this board mentioned that our dline should have a field day with these guys and Woodley would have at least 3 sacks.

Neither is going anywhere. Don't forget We haven't exactly been a bottom feeder team like many others for a long time. It's just our time

I've been wanting Ziggy Hood gone since last season but Heyward, while an improvement, isn't much better, McClendon holds the double team or gets penetration, Heyward and Ziggy always get blown up and pushed out of the way for big gains with the run, neither can do the job that is needed. There is a lot of dead weight on this team that needs to be addressed and while some of the players have to go I believe there are some coaches, like the oline coach that needs to go. Kugler was handed shoddy guys from the start and then injuries happened but he at least made them resemble a loine, this current oline coach was handed much more and they stink worse than they did before.

They'll both get an extension. Short memory spans on this board.

As to a couple of things in the original post I would say that you might be stretching it to call the Raiders an inferior team. People close to this team and pro analysts this year were all writing the Steelers off. As far as Colbert and the gang I think Haley will get the ax before any of them BY FAR.

I'll play along. If I have to choose between Colbert and Tomlin at this point I'd say Tomlin should get the axe first. I believe the talent we've drafted over the last few years has been solid, but once Tomlin has them on HIS TEAM he can't find a way to coach them up to the next level. Not sure what's up with that, but there does seem to be a trend developing here. I think the great coaches in this league find a way to get the most out of their talent. Belichick is the master and there are many other coaches that have a way of doing that. Bum Phillips once said that the main job for a head coach is to take average players and make them good and to take good players and make them great. Tomlin seems to be incapable of that. He's taken good players and made them average and average players and made them below average.

Haley goes first - and is probably the only one to go.

I still think one of Tomlin's biggest problems is the guy creates no identity for the team, but then again I still think Tomlin has been primarily a puppet coach with the Rooneys and Colbert pulling the strings. So from that perspective, I am still trying to figure out whether I think Tomlin is a capable coach because I don't think he has had a lot to do with putting the shape of the personnel for the team he may prefer...but then again I lean towards Tomlin just not being capable enough of doing that.

I personally think Colbert deserves more blame. I view his picks over the last few years being more of grab bag approach....i.e. "well we need a RT, LT, Adams has the pedigree being from Ohio State - I guess we'll get him" - there has been little strategy in really saying "hey this is what we need for OL, this is the makeup of the type of guy I want on our OL for LT, RT, Guard, etc."

As far as who goes first, really difficult to say, but I honestly think it may be Colbert. I really doubt either will be fired unless this turns into a 3-13 or 4-12 type season and as bad as the Steelers are I think they will probably find a way to win at least 5 games, maybe even 6 or 7.

Time to clean out all the coaches starting with tomlin, the packers have coached up an all rookie oline with 4th round picks and undrafted free agents who are 5-2, we cant coach up high draft picks on this swiss cheese oline, and this has to be a coaching problem....

I would have settled for Woodley having one tackle on Pryor - like on the first play were he didn't even look at him
