I think we should sit Canada for the last game and let Ben call the plays. It would be like a interview for the OC job. I’m not convinced that Ben will retire, if we get good people on the Oline he will come back.

Tomlin said he’s not opposed to turning “the keys of the offense” over to Roethlisberger for the Monday night game…

    guess we’ll see

This thought that Ben would make a good coach or coordinator. First why would he want it? The pay sucks, the hours are endless and there is no.indication he wants it. He may, but he has never shown that he would actually be a good coach and he has never shown that he can be an innovative genius in creating an NFL offense. Operating on the field far different than creating an offense.

My brother was a college coach for decades and he was never home or always on the phone recruiting, etc. Coaching is one tough time-consuming occupation 7 days a week for 9-10 months at least. From what I've heard about Ben's work ethic, I see this as an impossibility of the highest magnitude. But then again, seeing how well our teams are prepared just might entice him to do this. Who knows? JMO>

As to Coaching, I remember Dick Vermeil in early 80's when he was Eagle HC. His family was complaining that he slept at the stadium constantly when he took them to the SB.

I could see Ben doing something in the NFL just for something to do. Nothing major. I see Rodgers and Mayfield in national commercials. I wonder if Ben does any Pittsburgh commercials?? The one time he was on Pittsburgh Dad (that was a funny one) he looked a little uncomfortable.

Ben as OC. Lol. you saved my day. But wait, the longer I think about it... It would be hiliarous. If MT, Butler, and Dadgum are gone after this season we definitely need some entertaining. In this case we definitely have to be on NFL hard knocks

Yeah, he became an HOF QB because he has a crappy work ethic.

Ben has stated he doesn't do much in the off-season.

Love this interview. Chris Simms worked his ass off and knows all the latest training techniques and studies mechanics. Ben says he isn't in to all of that and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yeah, there's no way Ben, or any other star athlete that's made hundreds of millions, is going to put in the hours needed to coach at the NFL level.

It would be like you or I winning the lottery and saying we're going to keep on working. I don't care how much you love your job, after the first bad day you're going to be thinking "Who needs this crap. Eff it. I quit."

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Ben doesn’t apply himself that way, not a film buff at all.

Ben is a HOF QB because of his God given talent, his ability to make something out of nothing.

Yeah before I'd ever put forth the idea of Ben coaching I'd want to see him sit down with Hoge or Tony Dungy and break down tape. I don't know that what Ben does can be taught.

Yeah. It's in the ballpark of Favre being a QB coach.

"I don't care if you have to force a pass against 4 defenders don't you ever let me see you throw a ball away!" Hahha

Perfect QB for Tomlin. Doesn't even know what technique coaching is like.

LoL. He has a bunch of people fooled. He's the same as the buff person down the road that say they never workout. It make them seem better 2 themselves. You don't not watch game tape ,and just magically read NFL Defenses. LoL. Hell you can't do that in High school. Now does he put as much time as others. I don't know, but it You think He never watches game film, or can't break it down. LoL.
This is like the guy that kept saying He doesn't look of Safeties.....as He looks off the Safeties and throws a td,and the announcers show, and talk about Him looking off a safety ,and throwing a td.

I don't know if anyone has been listening to the post game Steeler talk all season, but Charlie Batch has been saying all season long that they aren't allowing Ben to make calls at the line of scrimmage anymore to check out of something he doesn't like the look of.

I know checking out of plays and making calls can be over done, but sometimes it is necessary.

1st - Don't know anyone who hides going to the gym or otherwise training. What?

2nd - Every last NFL player does film study. That is a part of week to week practice.

3rd - Ben says he doesn't put in as much time as others. In this video "I just take a break in the off-season. I throw to my son." Not even Ben says he does as much as other QBs on his own. Where is your argument? You are arguing against Ben?

Well if You listen 2 some of these people....He wouldn't ever be able 2 make calls at the line of scrimmage, or check out of calls. Like He is Lamar. LoL. I don't remember How P. Rivers put it , but it was 2 the effect of the 1st time He seen a Qb(Lamar) have the same blitz over, and over ,and didn't know what 2 do about it. Peyton, and Eli got really quiet when He said it.
Which I'm bringing up...because that My friends is a indicator of someone not being able to break down a game film yet, or read a defense.
