There were people on this board that wanted to draft Holliman in the 1st round, not the 7th. I was against considering him at any point in the draft because it only took watching a few games to see that he couldn’t tackle my mom.

Agree. Defense is first and foremost about stopping the opponent.

Well, she doesn’t run backwards like DJ, but that’s more due to lack of mobility than intent.

You must have disliked Rod Woodsen?

Ike had a INT is Super XL. 3 of his 17 career INTs were in the playoffs,

Nope I can honestly say the only Steeler I truly didn't care for in the last 30 years was Cam Thomas. Players like Woodson and Polamalu were take the good with the bad types. Everyone used to dump on Ike for having hands of stone and dropping potential interceptions. I wouldn't have cared if he never caught the ball he at least prevented completions.

Also....Ike could play the run like a champion. I guess I liked Ike more than most did.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Rod Woodson a gambler that would go for the interception
and make splash plays all over the field. Exciting HOF. Any CB's worth their weight must be able to make splash plays
and intercept the ball when they should. Hell look what happened in the Miami game this past year. If they catch these balls
    we win.

Woodson was a gambler like Troy was after him but they both were sound defensively as well where they prevented the catch as much as the created splash plays. Woodson's pass defense in Superbowl 30 on a deep sideline throw to Sanders was a thing of beauty including the getting up and pointing to his knee saying I came back from a torn ACL to play in the SB in the same season don't test me because I'm ready.

These days you see that the expectation for defensive backs is to get the turnover, be a ballhawk and the sad reality is that many of them lack the talent to be ballhawks but they could at least be a solid pass defender. Look at how much Sean Davis and Mike Mitchell tried to prove they were smart ballhawk safeties and in the case of Davis were beat like rented mules. After a promising start Artie Burns was trashed repeatedly for not making the splash turnover play and started trying for that and getting burned. Young players need to realize that the turnovers will come just work on your craft. Minkah's interceptions don't ever seem manufactured but are just being in the right place at the right time.

Mike Vick for me, because I love dogs.

And also Najeh Davenport, since you brought up being dumped on. :lolol:

    I loved Ike.

I can understand that about Vick. I don't think he is a person worthy of my time to think about it. I couldn't believe it when they signed him and wasn't going to get dragged into the "he's changed and served his time" discussion. You don't do what he did without that being hardwired into you, that doesn't change. Cam Thomas was one the only times I have watched a Pro player completely give up at the snap of the ball. He was in his two point stance, the ball was hiked and he just stood up and didn't move. You do that go to the sideline and let someone who wants to play take your place.

Yeah, I think talent wise Jr. might be a later round 1 guy, maybe somewhere day 2?

But I think he will be solid and has a high floor. At worst a #2, #3 CB in the NFL.

He may be available when we are up for our second pick.

Wonder if we would take him or not. Mmm. Maybe.

There is a decent chance he won't make it to 17. He's not making it to 32.

4.46 at the combine means he will not be there at #32. And you are right, he may not make it until #17 either.

I don't know how they got 4.46. That was His best time, but He also ran a 4.60 something His second run. I thought they averaged it together.

No they always just post the fastest time. They don't care if you fall down on your 1st or 2nd try as long as you have one good run. It is all about trying to understand your top end speed.

What if one was just lucky???
I'm not saying You are wrong. I just always thought they averaged them both.
By the way....I just rewatched both runs, and He ran a 4.47, and a 4.52.
    So I can't figure how they got a 4.46:shrug:
    How did they do that???

What? There is no luck in the 40 at the combine.

At the start the time starts when you do. There is no ready set Bang.
And at the finish there is no guy witch an itchy trigger finger on the stop watch, it is a laser beam, so you can't luck out and get a good reading.

Now, home at a Pro Day you may be able to get a little more "Luck" in your 40 time.

The only reason to move up a few spots is if one of the Top 3 Offensive tackles is still on the board.

I could see them burning a 3rd (Pick #80), to move up to get one of the LTs Peter Skoronski, Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones.

The fact that Richardson is on this mock at 6 makes it a straight up joke. Ain't no way in hell he should be in the top 10 pick convo.
