His first order of business is to replace Mike Holgrem. Just read that he's been "fired", and is being replaced by former Eagles president Joe Banner effective immediately. Mike Holgrem will be retiring at the end of the year.

Now the "Walrus" can go back to Seattle and continue crying about what might have been!

Cleveland is forever cursed. Did they even improve at all under Holmgren? I mean he hired Shurmur right? Since that hire hasn't Shurmur only won TWO division games? Also under Holmgren didn't they draft 3 qbs? I think Cleveland has about 3 good players that are gonna have fruitless careers because of the ineptness of their management. Sounds good to me!

This is the problem with Cleveland. They're the anti-Steelers. There's no continuity. They're constantly changing management, coaches, and players every 3 to 4 years without allowing there current set up to cultivate into a winner. There is NO patience up there. That being said, I get the feel this may be different. This time its a new owner and this Haslam guy just may know how to build a winner. He has learned from the best :hehehe:.

And if it does turn out that way, good for the people of Cleveland. They deserve better than that steaming pile of crap of an organization thats up there now.

I live down here in SEC country and actually Haslam's brother is the governor of my state. I don't keep up with college football but most of the people I know do. Yesterday some of the guys at work were saying that they heard Nick Saban was gonna get offered a bundle to coach the Browns. They really want that to happen because Saban coaches Alabama and they basically destroy every SEC team. I basically want it to happen because when he coached the Dolphins the best they ever done was 9-7 and I don't think he can cut it as a head coach in the NFL.

He was just reporting that it happened. What the heck? Not news worthy enough for you? Not shocking enough? If it wasn't someone outstanding that was fired, it didn't really happen? It's even in the proper forum. What the heck? Don't comment next time you feel that way.

Was just trying to say(not very well)that he did a better job coaching a team than running one.

I meant no disrespect toward TTF or his post. If thats how I came across I apologize!!

I thought Holgrem was going to turn things around there, he's had success every where he's gone. I guess this guy just wants to wipe the slate clean, start fresh, can't say I blame him.

I also thought he would do some good there. I wouldn't mind a guy like Holmgren having some kind of job with us. I think he's from the Bill Walsh coaching tree. That's not a bad place to come from.
