I like the move, they need more help at ILB, you can't count on Gilbert.

Wonder what the plan will be for him. Use him to replace Vince on passing downs? I Could see him being part of a 3 man rotation with Vince and Spillane, but then who calls the defense?

Everything I have read and heard about this deal sounds good. I am happy to see the Organization understand that the window is closing and we need to do whatever we can to win now! Not saying this pick up makes the difference but maybe another piece of the puzzle.

Yinz are over complicating a depth move. It had to be done when Bush went down no matter how well Spillane played and he's been great. They have been working on this deal for awhile I imagine. Avery restructured with the Jets so it cost the Steelers less to bring him in.

Williamson and Dupree had to be teammates at Kentucky around the same time.

I like the trade, it is badly needed depth. I still like Spillane is going to get a lot of playing time, with Williamson being a rotational guy.

But the depth was needed regardless for sure. If you lose Spillane or Williams, we have nothing behind them. UG3 seems to have back issues, and then your looking at Marcus Allen or Jarone Elliot perhaps.

This was a good trade, a 5th for the player and also get a 7th back. I will give kudos to Colbert.

I bet they acquired last week about him, but Colbert rolled the dice a week and got a better deal and gave up less.

The Jets fire everyone in two weeks, build a solid team by 2022 and the trade becomes a gift:smiley1:

I added him on my fantasy team last week. Great minds think alike.:hehehe: This is a good pickup. They need to sign him next year as well. Vince getting cut next year would free up 4 mil.. Maybe just enough to make it happen. There is nothing to guarantee Bush will be the same early next year. UG3 and the back don't sound good. I hate that.

He should be familiar with Pittsburgh's defensive schemes. Noice observation on his coaching tree.

One good thing about playing for the Jets, there are plenty of opportunities to make tackles.

Like the move? It’s a brilliant move for us. Colbert, Tomlin, and ownership deserve major props here. We’re getting the bright spot on that Jets team and at a “Steelers” price. We get him and a 7th for a 5th and it adds depth, not replacement parts, where we need it. High character solid player that can move and is real down to earth. He would’ve been a UFA at season’s end, the Jets will pick up the signing bonus tab and correct me if I’m wrong but we get a solid experienced LB for about 1.6 or near there?

    Wow!

Tomorrow when Tomlin has his press conference, I saw that Alalu might have a MCL sprain, if true he will miss a few weeks or more. Gerry Dulac said Heyward's injury wasn't serious FWIW.

    Nope.

Nazir Jones is someone I would pick up the phone for. Timmy Jernigan but not too sure about him either. I would say elevate L.T. Walton and go from there. He knows the scheme.

According to some fans a washed up Dontari Poe is the answer for the Steelers DL depth .

    I do not know why.

If he gets released by Jerry Jones for some ridiculous excuse that Jerry has thought up of, I fail to see in what way someone picks him up from that point. For that matter, Poe would not fit in Pittsburgh's schematics anyway. The team needs a mobile, relentless playwr on the Interior. Poe used to be that at one point in time but not anymore.
