Crap! Now we are in deep pooh. Now we need two running backs, 2 defensive ends, at least 1 corner back (2 looking down the road), and depending on what munchak sees/can do with Adams we might need a left tackle.

I'm ok with this. True we are very thin now on the DL but here's my thoughts,The Steelers are not settling any more. Hood was drafted to be the replacement @ LDE and once he got in he stayed too long. Heyward should have replaced him a year earlier. After Woods left it seemed we were doomed to hang onto an underperforming high draft pick. Yes he would have been a good reserve but we must change our mindset. Perform or move on. Woodley cut. Ike slash his salary. Clark, thanks for the years but time to go. How good has Arnfelt been in practice? He was placed on the 53 roster the last couple games. Keisel did have 2 sacks and a FF the last 2 games so can he be our key B/U for one more year. Has Williams healed enough to fight for a spot. Fangupo?Does this mean DL has now become our top draft need?Cajun-

totally agree. For a guy with a supposed high motor ziggy was more on the side of vernon gholston than justin smith. Good cut, I applaud colbert & co.

There are still guys out there to be had. The Steelers don't panic in free agency, they never have. It isn't they way they work. My plan would be Keisel and a UFA, but maybe they really like the kids and believe it is time to get young. I don't know, just a thought.

Good for Ziggy...he might finally be able to live up to his potential playing his proper position at DT...I would have welcomed him back (for the right amount of $$)...but good for him.

This is going to be a fun hahah

why did he have to play out his whole contract without a replacement plan? it wasn't like we just figured out he wasn't the best fit. there is no plan. we just need warm bodies now. I'd have to think KC is on thin ice.

    Yep, I agree.

I wouldn't heap a ton of hate on the guy, and think he'll continue to play at a solid but uninspiring level for the Jags. Will be interesting how we go about replacing him.

I know I am. 2 days into FA's, I think its a little premature to say KC is on thin ice, I doubt he woke up Tuesday and said, "damn, FA started, I forgot to prepare!" Fact is, they probably had no intentions of bringing any of these guys back that they have lost so far.

We were 8-8 two years in a row, after the initial shock, I'm getting excited about things, we weren't winning with these guys! Who cares if they go, I'm sure they have a plan, lets see if who we have waiting in the wings and who they further bring in can be an improvement.

Yup! I'd rather they be doing this than re-signing all the same guys that brought us to 16-16. Bring in some new energy and see what happens.

  18. Let's be honest KC has had some pretty rocky drafts that have left some major holes. I don't have alot of faith that KC is the guy moving forward. With that said, lets see what happens in this years draft and how the 14' season plays out.

I have faith in Colbert. He and Tomlin definitely had some issues seeing eye to eye early on, though.

Welcome to the board, by the way. :drinks:

This is probably pretty reasonable for the player that he will be in a scheme that suits him better. I see him being a poor man's Brandon Mebane in Gus Bradley's scheme.

  21. Thanks for the welcome TTF cheers bro

I said then and I'll repeat it now, we should have held onto Ta'amu last year! He had a solid season with the Cards and they just re-signed him. At least we could have moved McClendon to DE with Ta'amu at NT and had our starting 3 set. We then could have focused on depth. Right now, we're looking for D-lineman to come in and start.

I was way off on this one. I was thinking Ziggy was looking at a contract in the neighborhood of 4 years 12 million tops.

  24. Ziggy was a bust. Does the trend under colbert continue?
