Yes, the article seem to be one very thinly veiled "Yeah, right!" to the agent's claims.

I had Beachum figured for a back up next season - is he going to pull a Ramon Foster and end up an average to decent fill-in? I wasn't aware he had been drafted to start anytime soon, though.

I also hadn't figured on him being a starter soon or at all really. But I do think Tomlin was really up on him.

No way Colon will be here next season, they haven't even approached him yet (about restructuring or paycut) and I doubt they will. He'll be among the first cuts you hear about next week :butcher:

I don't know. There is so little to be saved from cutting him that he may hold out with the team until we find a replacement.

    Cuts

I don't think anyone else is getting cut until there needs to be cuts. For instance, until you need the money to sign Lewis you don't just go and cut Harrison. When Lewis is signed and sealed and you need the money, you cut Harrison if you need to. You don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Patience and calculated moves are what makes this successful.

I believe that they can cut him next week, but designate him as a post June 1 cut for cap purposes. If we are staying with a primarily power blocking scheme, he fits - and is actually a really good blocker in that scheme. If we go ZBS, I don't see him having the movement ability to be worth keeping.

Unless I am mistaken, they are just under the cap, they need to make further room to be able to sign more people. Cuts are coming.

all they needed to do is get under the cap to this point. not cutting JH and colon before june 1 was concern for how the dead money would hit. omar got that accomplished without doing cuts right now. june 1 for these guys makes a huge difference in money available.

yes but if you cut him immediately you clean the 2014 cap otherwise they split the dead money this season and the next , they will make their counts

Maybe they haven't approached him for a restructure because they don't want to push anymore of his cap pain to any future years. What's the possibility they keep him this year and decide what to do next year?
