Well we are thru 2 weeks of preseason games,
I have some concerns, It maybe a trying time for some
of our less experienced players, I am saving judgement on alot
of areas that I would like to see improved to give these guys a chance
to acclimate their selfs to the rigors of playing in the NFL. The one area that I will
comment,is the intensity level does not seem to be present in some of these ball players?
I am still tying to figure out why, yes I know it is the preseason, but some of these
guys need to make an impression, I am not seeing it(atleast in games)
from some people I would like to see it coming from.On to Buffalo.

How intense are they supposed to be during the preseason? Every year it seems there is a team that goes 4-0 in the preseason and is in a deep hole come the 6th week of the season. Take it for what it is, preseason. Games count starting with week 1.

I think guys who are fighting to either make the 53 or even the PS should be exerting alot more effort. They ought to be out there fighting for their livelyhood. Barring a few exceptions, I am concerned about our depth at certain positions. Some of these guys have to show a little more fire and that they want to be Steelers long term.

IDK, seems like we are reaching for things to complain about when we are talking about lack of intensity and preseason football.

I'll be happiest when the team gets really hot and intense later in the season than now.

It's like every year everyone acts like they've never seen a preseason game before.

Didn't the Colts have some insane losing record in preseason while they were setting the record for most consecutive 10 win seasons?

This is not news. We always reach for things to complain about.

This exactly. I don't see anywhere in the original post about lack of intensity in the starters. Everyone knows the preseason is for the non-starters to show something in game situations. Ward is talking about the intensity of the less experienced players. All you guys liked the intensity you saw from Gilreath in his battle to make the 5th WR spot. Some of you actually need to read the posts before making unwarranted comments.

FWIW, talking about intensity in non-experienced players is hardly a sky is falling post.

I've said a few times that more often than not it's more important how these guys are playing after the 1/3rd of the season. I am not for them showing their hand too much and a smart amount of intensity is better than dominance. I don't want someone getting injured play max out. Just know the scheme, be in the right place, don't get manhandles and don't get hurt.

When Cortez Allen got that pick last night after he made the catch then made a cut or two to see how he was with the ball I wanted him to kneel down. We need practice at every point in the field and I didn't want him pulling a hammy for 6 points in a pre-season game.

ESPN seems to think that the Steelers threw everything they had at Luck last night.
    I doubt it.

Then again, they are trying to tout Luck as the second coming of Payton. Before they had Payton and Brady for poster boys. Rogers came along for the trifecta. Luck must be giving them a perpetual you know what!
