It was a good time to be a fan

Good thing he did or he'd be the quintessential example of a real MF. LOL

It is funny how this angle on the play is so rarely shown.

You're forgiven FS, not your fault (this time). But on a brighter note, you'll probably be around for the next Dynasty! No, not the Steelers, the remake of that sappy 70's TV show. :lolol:

I was 7 years old, I was just getting into sports...Clemente was already my hero , obviously. I have been a Pirate fan since I was 5. I love baseball. We only had black and white TV back then in our house and its was like 13 inches or something. I remember this play and I instantly became a football fan....correction, a Steeler fan. I mean I already was one, but this locked me in and created a passion that still burns to this day. I loved watching the Steelers in the 70's, it was an awesome decade for Pittsburgh sports!! City of Champions!!! BTW, when we made it to the Super Bowl in '74, dad broke down and bought us our first color tv. It was pretty weird seeing them in color the first time. I almost wanted to watch it in B/W again since thats was how I was used to seeing them. Good times, great memories and a true legend will be missed by us all !!!

This is a great view. It’s too grainy to be 100% conclusive, but it’s highly improbable that the ball could have hit the ground and been grabbed that cleanly by Franco. At least 95% conclusive IMO. As for the initial touching of the ball, again not 100% conclusive but it’s most likely off of Tatum given the momentum of his strike. I just can’t see the ball getting that much rebound energy if any part of Fuqua were between Tatum and the ball.

If this were reviewed in NY today it’s 50/50 whether the call would have been “confirmed” or “play stands.” Zero chance of it being overturned.

Kind of like me. Father died when I was young boy. One memory I force myself to keep (fading with age) is my Dad bouncing me off every bed in the house when Maz hit that HR. I got the Bucs tattoo out of respect for what they meant to me in my youth. Obviously Pittsburgh sports is a birth rite for us. I was at the 2nd or 3rd Penguin game but took some time to get into Hockey. I'm probably one of the few Pittsburgh people you'll find who was at a Championship game most Pittsburgh people forgot about, Those Pittsburgh Pipers/Condors. ABA Champs baby!!!!!
