To all of my Steelers fans brothers and sisters out there. I want to apologize for my idiotic attitude last night after the Steelers loss to the Bronco's. I am the one who started the Tomlin is a Moron thread. My emotions got the best of me. Point blank, I wanted nothing more than for the banged up Steelers team to escape Denver with a W and then go up to Foxborough with a healthier team and beat the daylights out of the Kraft, Belichick and Brady lead Cheaters. It may have even meant more to me than actually winning the SB if you can even fathom that for a brief moment.

I do question coaching decisions like most of us do but that is just the nature of me wanting complete perfection when it matters most. I do wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to the Steelers just like everyone one else on here does I'm sure.

Looking at the big picture, the Steelers showed up prepared but in the end we were just beat by a better team. I will give props to the Broncos for their efforts and throw my support behind them next week to beat the Patriots the way that I wish the Steelers could. I haven't made up my mind yet for who I want to win the Superbowl but am leaning towards the Cardinals.

I know that next year this team will be better and stronger than this year. They will be a very hungry team going into the season and I believe will learn to take care of business with each and every snap. It will be a long off season but an exciting one as well.

Mike Tomlin has my full support going into next season.

Thanks TTF for giving us the best message board in all of the NFL.

    :herewego!:

All we could ask as fans is play hard and give it their all. They did just that yesterday, coaches included. A lot to be proud of, a lot to look forward to. No shame here.

Well said! Our arrow is pointing stratospheric if we can minimize FA attrition this off-season.

Yea. I got a little caught up in the moment last night. BTW- I would have still tried the FG. I believe that was the biggest momentum shift in the game. I wish MT's gut would have felt different. Bottom line though. Denver played better than we did. Hats off to them.

I am so optimistic for next season. Although they lost yesterday I think this team learned a lot about itself and gained confidence. The Broncos didn't beat the Steelers yesterday, the Bungals did. They were just too beat up and yet they managed to still almost win that game. The D yesterday was not the same D we saw early in the season. On top of that, I believe we saw a potential star emerge yesterday in Coats, he played hard and really stepped up.

The future is looking bright that's for sure.

I know how you feel. Takes time to get perspective some times. It took me 3 months to watch any espn after SB XXX. I'm still not quite right in the head after that...

Don't sweat it, 86. I say things in the gameday thread every week in the heat of the moment that I wish I hadn't (or that I instantly regret). I try to be rational in other posts, but the gameday thread is like Vegas for me. What happens in the gameday thread stays in the gameday thread. :smiley1:

Except for the gameday threads won't give you an STD. At least I don't think *looking around at some of you*

You think a 1st half 4th down play was a bigger momentum shift than a 4th quarter fumble? You want another do-over? ;)

Score 13-12. Clock 13:23, 4th qtr. Ball on the 34 yard line. 51 yard attempt. Flags on the uprights, slightly twirling. Mile High Stadium, A kickers paradise. Boswell perfect in the game so far and great on the season but hardly ever trusted on anything over 50 for some reason.

FG Makes it 16-12 and forcing the Broncos out of any possible 2 point conversion if the get the TD which they did. Instead, take a delay of game penalty on purpose to back us up 5 yards so that Berry can easily put it into the end zone 5 yards deep on the fly to give a us a grand whopping total 19 yard net punt.

Yea, I think it was the biggest momentum shift for sure. I don't feel I need a do over. I stand by my statement that they should have tried the FG. At this point it's water under the bridge so it's not worth worrying about.

He should not have tried a FG.
Brandon McManus commented that it was the worst wind he ever kicked in his career... upwards of 30 MPH at field level.
Danny Smith says, "never trust the flags on the uprights"
Berry was money all year pinning deep. Just one touchback in 28 "pin them" opportunities all year. Best in the NFL.
The Broncos had not executed a drive of more than 40 yards since their first drive of the game.

No, Tomlin did not go with his gut... he went with the information at hand, and made the correct call.

we can agree that one of us is taking the reasoned approach using available information, and one of us is going with their gut

Your reasoned approach using available information includes comments from an opposing player?

Maybe they should have taken a text survey from the home crowd to see what they thought also.:lolol:

Yes, my reasoned approach about kicking conditions on the field, includes using comments about the kicking conditions on the field from a kicker on the field.

Oh i see. It was a poor interpretation on your part.

You see, I am using Brandon's comments to justify Tomlin's decision on the field. Brandon's comments are supporting MY argument

However, I am fairly confident that players/coaches with Brandon's perspective exist on the Steelers side of the field to inform their HC of the conditions.

Shove the wind up your butt McManus. You kicked 5 FG's.

    C.Boswell (43) (28) (47) B.McManus (28) (41) (51) (41) (45)----41 41 45 51 all probably good from a 55 yds out. Were there any misses by anyone? IDK and don't care.

What bothered me was 1st down at the 24 and got nothing.

2-5-DEN 33--------:)54) (No Huddle, Shotgun) F.Toussaint left tackle to DEN 24 for 9 yards (D.Trevathan).
1-10-DEN 24------This is where the ball was before the sequence of events [comedy of errors] occurred with the ball ending at the 34 and the punt.

Four point leads are not insurmountable but in this situation more than welcome.
