You know, it wouldn't be the stupidest thing they ever tried and I think thinking outside the box I've agreed with that suggestion before PWP... I just don't see em doing it especially this late in the season. That's something belicheat would do. I don't think our coaching staff operates in such a manner... As its a stretch to begin with regardless of how we twist it in a sensible manner. When's the last time we had a guy go both sides?

Mitchelle or Davis can't cover either and they have tape to prove it.

The point is and has always been. DHB is faster and can cover more ground on deep balls . Really no way to argue that point . More proof is we never play single high and the reason is we have no single high capable guys . So I make no assumptions just simply pointing out the fact that DHB is faster and can cover more ground and would give us the ability to play single high Safety.

I also see that is the best way to beat them so another adjustment is needed against the Pats .

What I worry about is that the NFL will choose this same bunch of clowns as the ref crew if the Steelers play the Pats for the title game in a few weeks.

Correct we don't do it . I can't find a 2 way player or remember one.We have switched guys or used guys at multiple spots on the same unit, but a great question as to a 2 way player?

DHB can play single high and I have no doubt about that ...A move of this manner would crush the offensive dreams of the Pats. They are preparing quick picks with deep lobs as we speak. They have no respect for our Safety play over the top and they will exploit that big time next game as they should.

If I was Coach I would have a big surprise waiting on them. The do what we do mentality allows them to see the weakness and prepare to attack it.

He has to be doubled. Bump and cover underneath and somebody over top. It's simple really.

I like that idea. Taking cement shoes waste of space Mitchell off the field would be a positive. Still need to double at times. Haden will be a major positive. I want to see these POS again, although we will probably lose right?! as some will say. Or maybe someone will knock them off paving the way. Enough. They need to finish them. They did, but the fortnite zebras made sure it was not to be. And then the VP of zebras jackoff had to go out of his way to explain it. Although there is video evidence of the same thing happening. Bring it again. POS cheating MF'ers.

Well, there was this one time at band camp ...

But seriously, NE changed things up with their use of Gronkowski after the first half. Gronkowski's game stats:
    • Total: 15 targets; 9-for-12 for 168 yds; 1 INT, 1 DPI, 1 2PAT
    • Q1: 1 target; 1 rec for 2 yds
    • Q2: 2 targets; 1-for-2 for 31 yds
    • Q3: 6 targets; 4-for-5 for 66 yds (22,10,17,17); 1 INT
    • Q4: 6 targets; 3-for-4 for 69 yds (26,26,17), 1 DPI, 1 2PAT

Yeah they put him wideout and he dominated. Brilliant move by bellycheat... Butler should've checkmated his ass... However, if we would've played for a friggin first down 2 drives prior to the heated debacle (minus AVs brainfart) gronks alignment matters none. MAN!!! Hope we get em again!

Personally after this past game and the way it turned out I don't want to see them again, not that we can't beat them!!! It's the "Ref factor" I'm concerned about let another team deal with that idiology were after #7 and thats our main goal.

all this bumping him at the line is silly, especially a DB. Dude is a tank that just bulldozes weak DB's like nothing lol. He will need a guy on him plus over the top safety help, problem is our safety(namely Mitchell) sucks lol. Eric Berry is small like davis but it's a night and day difference. Berry can cover and is strong to match up gronk. Not many Gronks out there and not many berrys out there lol.

I feel the same way. If we can never beat the pats, or we avoid them, AND we win more superbowls, then I can care less and will be happy with that narrative.

IMO the way to play Gronk is with man and man over . I would not put my man on the LOS. I would rather the man coverage be at 6 or 7 yards off the ball and then step into him at the 5 yard mark. This would give the man guy the ability to reroute him to a degree without Brady knowing which way the help is designed to be over the top.

Whoever those 2 may be would have only that 1 job . Don't be peaking in the backfield ,don't be looking for others coming free in your area, don't worry about a RB breaking a run into your area . Just simply hit him and change his route 1 way or the other and get the desired leverage needed from the deeper man.

This will create other plays for other guys , but it would be the most effective way to slow Gronk and not give Brady a easy read to Gronk or a easy throw to him . At that point you hope Brady will double clutch a ball or 2 and the front guys can get the needed pressure .

Steelers biggest mistake after losing SBXLV to Packers was not drafting defensive personnel to be able to stop the Patriots offense. Seattle did this and won a Super Bowl, and should have won another if it wasn't for a horrible play call.

I guess I don’t share the pessimism. I was pissed as anyone but not at the defense. They did what they needed to do. You’re playing the GOAT. You’re going to give up points. Hold them to what they did was a plus.

Steelers are all-in on offense . Go win the game with the offense. The last 8 minutes they didn’t do that. They relied on a defense that is just not at championship caliber plus they were minus their best player (Shazier).

Tomlin had better learn from this and not “live within his fears” as he so likes to say.

The pats are nothing special on defense.

This is where losing Shazier hurts the worse as he was really the guy to stick in Gronk.

They are going to get at least 27 points. We need to get more. It`s up to the offense.

If we see New England again the Steelers better do their homework. I think the Patriots will give them a completely different looks than what we got last game.

I'm not saying we need to out think ourselves, but we need to be ready for some of those gadget plays they got.

Steelers should welcome any gadget they want to run. Can't hurt anymore than running Gronk up the seam all game.

The reason I say this, is because, I don't think it was physical. I truly think that it was mental. The steelers, in particular, Ben and the coaches. They had to know that they could not only hang with the patsies, but they could also beat them. With a weak defense, our #1 wr out of the game, and some inferior play calling down the stretch on both sides of the ball... we were one catch away from defeating those cheats. I think this team gets it now. The patsies are Not invisible.
