Tony Romo is a CLASS. ACT. If you've not see his presser today to where he basically stepped up and just passed the torch to Dak then you DEFINITELY need to watch this! INCREDIBLY classy thing to witness! I have great respect for what he does here and honestly I even feel sympathetic for the guy and never thought I'd be able to say that about a Dallas player. This is flat out one of the classiest gestures I've ever witnessed in pro sports. Seems totally genuine to me. What say you guys?

I've always liked and thought Romo was a good guy. His body is done though and he knows Dak is the future.

    Classy move.

This is definitely the best possible way to handle this situation. Jason Garrett should be forever thankful to Romo for this.

My buddy is a diehard cowgirls fan I told him today how nice it was for Romo to do this and he said that he literally cried watching it. I told him I thought it was ironic that their fans have killed Romo for years but now they're suddenly all sorry that he's probably leaving.

Leaving for where? His contact is too high for him to be cut or traded. He's going to be a cowboy next year if he doesn't retire

Sure, if you're a career bench player, but not when you lose your job as a starter and your replacement wins it all (I doubt Dak can pull it off though). I think that would sting a little bit.

Yeah I think he'll retire because I doubt anyone would be willing to eat that much of a contract. Although there is a certain team in Cleveland that might be willing to. If they could get the numbers right I could even see Elway trying to basically rent another franchise qb.

Even if a team could get the numbers to work, I can see anyone taking the risk, he'll break down again.

Only way he's getting back on the field is an injury to Dak.

Not with these cap hits, they have to let him go after this year to trim his high salary to reduce his high cap hit by a large margin: When they let him go after this season is over his 2017 cap hit drops from 24.7 million to 10.7 mill, his 2018 cap hit drops from 25.2 million to 5.7 mill, his 2019 hit drops from 23.7 million to 3.2 million, so his 3 year total cap hit drops from 73.5 mill, to a much lower cap number of 19.4, it makes cap sense to force him out after this season....

Year Base Salary Prorated SB Cap Hit
    2017 14,000,000 10,700,000 24,700,000
    2018 19,500,000 5,700,000 25,200,000
    2019 20,500,000 3,200,000 23,700,000

With this medical history, who in their right mind would sign him: This is Romo’s second broken back, on top of three broken clavicles and two other back surgeries.

The impact if they let him go after the season is not accurate. They save $14M on his 2017 salary, but his bonus allocations to 2018 and 2019 are accelerated to 2017, resulting in a cap hit of $19.6 M if he's cut OR traded at the end of the season. So the savings is only $5.1M.

I live in AZ and all the bandwagon fans are coming out of the woodwork here like crazy!!! since the Cowgirls recent success. Second to that.... Raiders fans all chanting Superbowl here we come!!! I'll admit I don't like either team for obvious reasons, I guess they have a right to be excited with both teams being in playoff draughts the last couple of decades. I was in a Walmart yesterday and I noticed two Hispanic men looking at Cowboys replica jerseys in the sports section and they were pretty excited about it.. as I got closer to them they were talking "spanglish" I made a comment to them to the effect "yeah maybe we will get a Steelers and Cowboys superbowl" they both just gave me a deer in headlights stare. So I decided to check their fan knowledge by asking them the question jokingly "hey you think Romo's gonna come to Arizona at the end of the season??? They both looked at each other and replied no...we need a Quarterback Palmers done. So I said Romo is a Quarterback!! One said oh...I thought he was the kicker!!!! WTF!!!! :facepalm:So i walked away saying Go Steelers!!! WOW

If that is the case then hope either Atlanta or Seattle see them. Keep an eye on Green Bay as well as Washington.

Yeah!!! Leaping off the Cheatriots bandwagon right onto Cowgirls!!! It's gonna take a team like Seahawks or Packers "been there begore" to knock them off their pedestal. If Vikings had more time or the blind REF would have called that roughing the passer he missed to Bradford Vikings could have tied it up and went to OT, but REFS would have found a way to give the Cowgirls the win

Dont think Falcons can do it, but Seahawks or Packers could. Gotta imagine, that the Cowgirls are getting gassed!!! they did not look all that great against the Vikings and they have a tough run the next couple of weeks against Division teams. A bye is gonna prove disastrous for the Cowgirls. Guess we gotta wait and see that unfold.

I personally do. Atlanta's defense is good enough to emulate what Minnesota did to a lesser extent and Julio Jones can cause fits to any corner in the game.

FALCONS = One and done See Arizona last year. Great regular season team, but playoffs will be to much to overcome especially with teams like Packers and Seahawks catching fire a looming you can't beat that recent playoff experience.
