Lots of Redskins fans are confident they will beat us. Other fans think we aren't going to be good at all.

Still got Ben, the best WR Brown, a good O line, wheaton/rogers/coates who can ball, JJ, a great D line, fast linebackers, and now we do not have blake or allen to get burnt.

Why are we perceived to be so bad just because bell will be out, and bryant suspended the year. D williams can carry the load.

Probably because defense is pretty questionable? Plus Bell and Bryant are significant contributors when they show up.

The Redskins are good in their division. People are looking at that and translating it to the rest of the league.

    Their mistake...

Washington has a decent QB, we have questionable CB's. It could be a competitive game

I guess nobody fears this team lol. Also tired of hearing how refs cheated the Steelers playoff win last year, and we shouldn't even have been in there (bills win). There is some merit to this but to act like we are not a threat is silly.

Only way I see Steelers losing is if they beat themselves by not scoring early/mental errors/turning the ball over.

I just saw an article that says Vegas has us just as good odds as Carolina to win the SB (tied 4th). IMO, we are the team to beat in the AFC barring injuries.

if Ben/Brown/Bell ARE healthy and if this team makes the playoffs, I guarantee a superbowl championship.

Yep, I think people are finally realizing on how Tomlin's steelers tradionally are slow starters out of the gate.

The game will be competitive. The unfortunate slow starts are noted...

The secondary is still questionable which I believe will get stronger as the season rolls on. Our D Line can be arguably be the best in the NFL this season (3-4) ILB are solid. OLB not so sure. Need to see the Jarvis project turn on the jets. Moats is above average but not a game changer. That leaves James "Beast" Harrison and Chickillo. I would like to see Chick get quality snaps. And don't be surprised if Harrison gets a bulk of the snaps again.

The Offense is going to be a juggernaut. I feel the D will get more solid as the season goes on and I feel this team not beating itself and not losing Ben is Super Bowl bound.

Kirk Cousins is a force at home and Pittsburgh's secondary problems are well known. Plus Desean Jackson is healthy and had a good rapport with Cousins late last year. Add in to that, Dupree just went on IR and I think the perception is the Redskins can keep up with this offense.

For the Redskins defense, they have two good corners to combat our passing and although I love D Will, he is no Leveon. Sprinkle in some "start of a new season optimism" and there you go...

Based on what facts exactly? How many wins vs losses does Tomlin''s teams have to start the season?
What factors were used to reach this conclusion? Record? Memory? Score of games? or something else?

Here is the thing the Deadskin fans are getting a little cocky cause they had a decent season. Fine I get that but we are a pretty damn good team too. My problem/worry with us is too many so called experts are picking us, when that happens we usually aren't that good, for what ever reason injury for example, imo. I have heard on the radio several people pick us in a rematch of all our super bowls.....Cards, Seafags and Packers.

The one's who aren't pick us are worried about our D, especially our pass D. I agree I am also worried about our OLB spot and LT. However all these position could turn around and be pretty damn good. I like that we added new faces in the secondary and I hope AV keeps getting better. I have not seen BB look this good in a long ass time, he has worked himself into serious game shape. I feel he is going to lead us to #7 and he will win 3 MVP's this season. JMO

Slow starts, improved skins team, suspensions, injuries, none of it matters only thing that does is that it's Monday night and that means a win. If it was Sunday you could worry but Mondaynight is Steelers night.

Let's not forget that Tomlin tends to make mediocre teams look like championship teams.

you're right about cocky fans that think their skins can beat us..... they got excited after last season... I just had to put a few in their places when I pointed out that last yr., their "great" team failed to beat a single team with a winning record... It really put things in perspective

I could see the secondary struggle in coverage like the season opener against New England last season, the young guys will have to play the Redskins have some good WRs.

Yes we had problems in the secondary last year. This year we have had so much change, I don't think we know yet. In addition, yes Kirk put up great numbers last year at home, but they didn't play any team at home who ended the year with a winning record.

In 2013 we started the season 0-4, in 14 we were 2-2 and in 15 2-2, but we finished strong in november december in all three years, in 2013 we went 8-8, we was 2-6 going into november but went 6-2 at the end of the season november through december but the hole we dug was to much to over come for a winning season....

The Steelers are listed as 3 point favorites, in spite of the home team usually getting 3 points.

Since it is easy to imagine the game not going well for Pittsburgh (multiple projected starters out), I could see people wanting to take that bet with the 3 points for Washington.

This way...the steelers will bring their "A" game and we won't have to worry about them playing down to their competition

I guess they don't have Real Steel type fans over there :hmm:

Seriously though, why would a fanbase predicting their own team to win, confuse anyone.
