I often hear people say he should go into the HOF. And that he “changed the Game”. Was he electric and fun as hell to watch ? Yep. Does he get too much credit for reshaping the running qb in the nfl ? Yes.

Randall Cunningham was more of a pioneer for the scrambling quarterback. And he was a flat out better player. Randall should get into the HOF long before mike. Vick is overrated to hell and back. Randall is underrated.

I brought this up when I 1st came on the board, but was told by many that somehow it was the teams Mike played on , and not Mike's fault. LoL

He wasted his career. The dog fighting and him not taking the game seriously. He literally would leave playbooks in his trunk and Still dominate on the field due to his ability

I wouldn't call winning 2 playoff games in a 13 year career very dominant.

Pete Rose can't get in the Baseball HOF due to his gambling.

Mike Vick should be permanently banned from the Football HOF due to his dog fighting.

Can't believe we are actually having this discussion anyways. I just looked up his official stats and it reads 2007 and 2008 Suspended/ In Prison. That alone should ban him for life!

Just My opinion, and just sticking with the football part, but anyone with a 13 year career, and only 2 playoff wins.....should not even be considered.

Ahhh…. But he looked so cool not being dominant. Oh, and he ran really fast for a QB, so that’s got to count for something!

I happen to agree with S.T.D so shouldn't it be changed to "We" then?

Lots of players didn’t take it “serious” Barry sanders didn’t even like football, randy moss couldn’t care less about the game. Both are pioneers and greats. If you don’t have the wins you gotta have the accolades, Vick has neither.
I don’t usually like the overrated or underrated label but if there is one who fits the word it’s him. People talk how he changed the qb position but he didn’t at all. Like I said he gets the credit Randall Cunningham deserves.

Considering he was only a full time starter and helsthy for like 6 of those seasons yes.

Prior to lamar he had most rushing yards in a season by qb. Still holds qb ypc record, and still holds the most career rushing yards by qb. Made 4 pro bowls in 6 healthy seasons. Made playoffs 3 of those seasons and dragged a bad Atlanta team to the nfc championship vs the eagles. Comeback player of yr.

They both played positions where you didn't have to be dedicated x's and o's wise to dominate. You could dominate purely of your talent. Qb is a position where that won't work even though Vick still had success despite not studying and dedicating himself to the game.

All of which would be awesome if He was a RB, and not a Qb.
What up with some of You being so enamored about how many yards a Qb runs???(especially when it amounts to no real accomplishments)
Do We get enamored by How many times a RB throws???
How many hand offs a Wrs takes???
How many tackles a offense lineman makes???
It's stupid. Again especially when it amounts to nothing, but stats. Show Me one QB that has rushed for over 800 yards in a season they won a SB......I will wait, and wait, and wait.

This is really important in a Matt Canada offense.

The only one I can think of who MIGHT fit that criteria would be Steve Young. I don't know, nor care, what his rushing stats were.

Yeah....I have looked into all of this before. Steve Young....get this ....had one of His lowest rushing seasons the year He won the SB as a starter...
He rushed for a whopping 293 yards that year.
He has always said He didn't become good till He learned to play from the pocket. Of course He would never got that much time in todays NFL.

Would have been but Pete Carrol made the worst play call of all of NFL history by not handing the ball off to Lynch. Another gifted SB for Brady and Belicheat.:puking 3:

My bad I had the two years mixed up but even then I forgot he threw that interception to Malcolm butler because he ran for 800 yards lol.
