It is very important to me that players and coaches are prepared and ready to roll in all games,
    preseason included.We must be ready
to play before October. And at a high level.

We don't do anything. No matter how important it is to YOU it is far more important to every member of the Steeler organization.

i wonder if they take this slow approach thinking that they will click at the right time ready for the playoffs , too bad they can't squeze any wins in the beginnings .

find the best combination of starters right from the camp and not in the 5 th week of the season could help , seems we need more than one month to understand which players have to play

I don't think we start off slow next year. Playoffs or not this year, the way we gelled offensively will carry over to the next season. I think we start off strong and regain our top spot in the division. We are the best team in the division, regardless of how we finish currently. Hopefully we have all of our little pieces we were missing this year, at the start of next season. Remember, we had no TE's, our main defensive play caller out, LSH out and I believe he was a big part of the offensive strategy, and the continued OL debacles. We have two of those three in line next season, I feel we will be just fine.

Take the preseason more seriously than they did this year. Not the win or losses but the execution of the offense.

Finishing the season strong is a good sign for next season.

Yup. Get better players. And health wouldn't hurt, either.

Seems to me that the Steelers have a hard time decideing who plays best at what position, especially on the offensive line, linebacker and running back. I think back about Dwyer, for some reason Tomlin decided he was not good enough to keep even though he showed a lot of promise in pre-season. I know injuries play some part in this but at the start of the regular season the coaches are still moving people around which is what pre-season is for.

Get back to the running game to set up the pass, we have our feature back cranking it up, so feed the ball to Bell and eliminate all those early turnovers we were plagued with in the beginning of this season, like the 5 turnovers against the bears in game 3.........

By Ray Fittipaldo / Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
When the Steelers were stumbling their way to an 0-4 start to the season, they were literally fumbling away opportunities to win games. The inability of the defense to force turnovers only exacerbated the issue.

DON'T GO 0-4 IN THE PRESEASON! Get a little taste of winning, even if it is a meaningless preseason game.

Not only Dwyer, but I also haven't figured out why we cut Ta'amu after sticking with him through his personal trials. He was also starting to flash in the preseason and is now doing a bang up job with Steelers West! Tomlin's personnel evaluation skills leave a lot to be desired.

Don't turn the ball over as much as they did in the first 4 games this season.

There needs to be an emphasis on attending voluntary OTAs and minicamps from here on out. Old teams trying to get young again need more practice.

Good post! This is what I am hoping for...not having to blow it all up and start over. Not to mention (because you did), major lineup changes due to injury in the early part of the season.
We can handle a slight remodel, though.;)

I would like to see more subbing new guys in and out of the first-and second string groups during preseason games. Make it more like game conditions. Start doing it after the first two series.
+ 1 million about working on timing and execution as much as possible.

Enough red already. The Steelers are a shining example of the impact of the changes in practice schedules/pads-on, pads-off, less two-a-days brought about in the current CBA.
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/21/s...aim-to-reduce-injuries.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0 Emphasis on the less camp, less time for fundamentals...

http://www.nfl.com/trainingcamp/sto...ice-changes-could-negatively-impact-nfl-games This team makes Bucky Brooks seem like a prophet......
