HOF QB Big Ben wasn't untouchable, so why is HOF Coach Tomlin?

No I never wanted Sean Payton. I think Tomlin should get at least 25 more years to get us moving in the right direction. If by that point we still haven’t won another playoff game Art 4th should at least consider moving on.

There is this one creep on twitter who post info on Tomlin's daughter, on which school she attends and what year she graduates, acting like this could be when Tomlin is ready to leave the Steelers .

Looked at noll and cowher records. They were still winning half their games when they left. Unless some type of miracle happens this year, I don't see us at 500 at the end of the season. If we end up sub 500, any coach or player should be considered as possible options to let go.

You mean the year where we then closed out the season with 3 straight losses, and fell out of playoff contention by losing to the Jets?

So, was the high-water mark of MT's tenure after the SB not be seen again? At what point did the journey down the other side of the mountain begin that has manifested where we are today? Just wondering.

The roster and his coaches he chose is his responsibility as you mention and is the genesis of most of the issues we face today, IMO. He's had a decade and a half to get it right and retool many times and those are extra chances he's already been given. This 14th millionth MT broken record thread is pointless simply because we all know what is going to happen based on the precedent that the Rooney's have followed. However, I'll look to see the next batch of venting posts coming up soon after Sunday's game. JMO>

The OP is a stupid question. That is no surprise given that Benny posted it.

Roethlisberger was untouchable until age caught up with him. He was old for a player. Tomlin is only 50. He's not old for a coach.

His post Ben resume will speak volumes. If keeping him 5 post Ben seasons with a maximum of 6-11 keeps him out of the HOF. Then I am all for him staying. Although the HOF is very watered down so it really isn't that big of a deal.

You would be happy for the Steelers to lose for five years just to keep Mike Tomlin out of the Hall of Fame? You really aren't much of a fan of the team.
