HOF QB Big Ben wasn't untouchable, so why is HOF Coach Tomlin?

Seems that anyone who mentions replacing Tomlin is promptly shut down by certain fans on this board. I just ask, if HOF QB Big Ben wasn't untouchable, had fans calling for him to retire or be replaced, why can't the same be true of Mike Tomlin?

Must Tomlin be coach for life? What is he finally has a losing season? Does he need to have 2 or 3 losing seasons in a row before it is OK to suggest he should be replaced?

I have an idea but I best just keep that opinion to myself.

I've been saying to fire tomlin since the first Jax playoff loss in his first season.

    I continue to say it.

The Rooney's stuck with Noll, and Cowher when they struggled and had losing seasons, Tomlin deserves the same respect.

Out of the 3 HC's that we had I feel that Cowhers coaching message was the only one that didn't get stale. Chuck Noll could no longer get his players to perform at their very highest level. His message grew stale with most the new and old players. Tomlin, while never having a losing season has that same staleness with this current roster.

Cowher just was going through a very difficult time personally with his family and especially with his wife having cancer that it really took a toll on him. I still feel that his players truly played their hearts out for him but he wasn't able to get the most out of himself.

Mike Tomlins best days are way behind him at this moment. It has nothing to do with whether us fans continually give him grief but whether his own team still buys what he's selling. JMVHO.

Yep. The search for a new HC and fresh ideas with all new hires should start immediately. No need to replace them all mid season though but begin the process right now. This train wreck isn't getting back on the track anytime soon.

When people complain about Tomlin not being criticised, I genuinely wonder which board they're reading.

I kinda think Tomlin already has had that same respect. And personally, I think Tomlin is about done with this himself anyways. The look on his face all game Sunday as well as the press conference, said it all. Unlike Cowher, I think Tomlin would certainly get back into coaching at some point. The loss of Ben and Colbert definitely plus the unknowns ahead, especially with this defense, really raises the question if Tomlin or fresh idea's is the best way to go moving forward. This defense isn't a one-year fix, plus the OLine needs some upgrading. Sure Khan & Weidle may be able to work some magic in FA. But the signs on the wall, for me at least, is a major change this off-season.

You’re probably one of those guys that ***** and complain about Tomlin nonstop, but if you seen him out somewhere you’d be falling all over yourself trying to get his autograph and a picture with him.

Have you not been paying attention? There are some on here who have turned any thread into a FIRE TOMLIN thread for years. Even when the original post had nothing to do with Tomlin. Untouchable? :lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol:

That's almost anybody. I criticized BA all season long in 08. I got to meet him and shake his hand at the parade. I was pretty stoked about it.

They also have an O line and top 5 defense, but yeah it’s pretty sad our starters can’t do as good as their backup lol

Losing seasons? Is that what this is about or competing for Lombari's? Whatever respect that is owed to MT has already been paid, 15 year's worth. This subject is a like a broken record- He Isn't Going Anywhere. Besides, nothing is his fault, its Canada that sucks, or the gum chewers fault, or Austins fault, or players fault, ready jump to the GM's fault, or the owner's fault. JMO>
