Had the Steelers not picked Pickett at #20, which team would have likely drafted him?

Exactly. I'm being honest of my thoughts on him pre draft but he's here now. I hope he exceeds all the projections about him and becomes a star.

Bro. I'm going to step out of this conversation. You're just a hater. That's the nicest thing I can say. You clearly don't understand how one player can go in the first and the rest of the class is protected to be 3rd rounders or worse.

Or maybe the Steelers just over drafted him which is perfectly fine if he turns out to be everything they hope he is.

But ask yourself this, is every other QB needy team wrong and the Steelers the lone right one? Or are the Steelers wrong?

When ever article long before the draft said exactly what I did. Then it's not the Steelers.

Right now we don’t have the answer to that. Hopefully the Steelers are right.

So apparently, had Pickett not been there, Ridder and not Willis was the #2 ranked QB on the Steelers chart and Willis was 3rd.

Imagine Pickett going 6 and the Steelers would have traded up to 15 to take Ridder.

Golly!!!! We really don't know how lucky we got. :)

Edit: Nevermind. I didn't realize somebody dug up an old thread. I guess we didn't have enough Pickett discussions. So much for him being irrelevant.

I think it's a protective barrier for teams, but in recent years a lot of teams have not exercised it, meaning they have seen enough after 3 years to not give you guaranteed money and are risking letting you walk after 4. I can't remember, did we use it on Minkah (no brainer), but got extended before the 5th year started? Same with TJ?
