Guesstimate of the # of bubble screens used today by the Steelers.

    7 per per quarter 28 couple most likely..be lots of short wides them birds be charging @ Ben.

    I just hope they are used as a second read and not a primary called play that the defense can read and jump. I still have nightmares about Suggs jumping that bubble screen.

    There will be a bunch, and should be a bunch because that's one way to quickly get the ball out in the face of a good pass rush. The keys are to avoid the big mistakes (ala the Suggs play) and to throw in some fake bubble screens like the draw off a bubble-look that we started the Jet game with, and some downfield throws where the WRs fake fake blocking stances for a count and then go. We'll need good protection for the latter, but if the outside rusher bites on the fake it helps the protection. Point is, if you're going to rely on the bubble you need to change things up often enough for the defense keep the defense honest. The bubble can be really effective if used correctly.
