Me and my step dad were talking about that yesterday and just because they have some of the same tats and hung out doesn't mean Pouncey had anything to do with it. The Pouncey brothers seem to be stand up guys who like to try and help peopl out of their troubles. I had a good friend in the ARMY stab a guy in the neck does that mean I'm part of it just because we were friends.

Have you ever read any of Pounceys tweets? He isn't the nice respectful guy people think?

In regards to what? I don't do twitter, just what I see on the home page here so thats why Im asking. I don't think any athlete needs to take crap from fans, if that's what you are inferring, I think fans that bad mouth these guys should be told to F-off. I always find it amusing that because fans are paying customers, that athletes should just bend over and take it from them. There are cool fans and then there are the scum of the earth fans, who, in the words of James Harrison, I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire.

Yeah I don't do Twitter either and you don't have to be a nice guy to be a stand up guy.

Scratch that. Giants LB Dan Connor was arrested yesterday for carrying a switchblade in his luggage.
    Fingers crossed, Coastal. [IMG]

I just don't understand these guys. I guess because I never had their God given talent I wouldn't know how to take it for granted, but, at the same time, I don't take my job granted. I appreciate the opportunity to do something productive, earn a pay check and provide for my family. Isn't that what most people do? Not some of these guys though (and some movie/reality tv stars). They have a sense of entitlement that I just can't comprehend. Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

Well just think of where a lot of these guys come from. The inner cities and rough neighborhoods and growing up without dads in their houses. It's just a recipe for another "statsitic" ya know? Look at most of the REALLY successful guys that "handle" their success well. Guys like Brady, BOTH Mannings, Flacco, Tebow, or RG3 all come from backgrounds of stability whereas a guy like Pacman or Hernandez or Ray Lewis or Albert Haynesworth or Leonard Little are from rougher "necks of the woods" and I think it just overwhelms some of these guys when you basically give them the keys to the strip clubs and the fancy hotels and the exotic car lots and they just feel invincible. That's always been my take on it. That's no EXCUSE ya know. I'm just saying I think those things might be contributing factors as to why they wind up in some unfavorable conditions.

BFT, I have no doubt you are right. I came from a broken home but not the "hood" so I can't say that I can exactly relate to that end of it. I guess then comes the question of where we are failing these kids? Instead of learning to work harder for what they want out of life they, instead, seem to feel a bigger entitlement, like the world owes them something. I don't know, I really don't!

Entitlement culture is something I'll never personally understand either. I think the only real way out of that mindset is to stop viewing yourself as a "victim". I mean how in the crap can I feel sorry for Chad Johnson being bankrupt when he spends money on things like tigers?! Mike Tyson was the same way. It's like Stan Lee said "with great power comes great responsibility". It's one thing to lose money trying to MAKE money but it's something else altogether to lose money by simply blowing it.
