Guess Who Met Me!!!

Yeah it was pretty awesome to be recognized by James Harrison. Lol!

 

Scary would be an aweso.e name for him for sure. Dude is nice but still dang intimidating. I'm just glad I decided to be 5'4 and not a pro qb.

Funny to see this. My wife and I met him in the Phoenix airport last month, she spotted his steelers suitcase and I recognized him immediately. He was really nice and down to earth. My phone background is the wife and I wearing his jersey for our engagement pictures and when I showed it to him he offered to take pics with each of us.

Really down to earth guy and an honor to have met one of our all time favorite steelers.

So BFT went to the Magic Kingdom and didn't get to meet Mickey? Had to settle for some old guy who was cut repeatedly by the Steelers. Bummer.

 

Damn! I've been to Disneyland a hundred times and never met any Steeler players! As cool as it is, for me, meeting Harrison wouldn't be worth the humidity of Orlando!

 

It has been pretty tame this week.

 

Oh dude I meet Mickey AND eat breakfast and supper with him a couple of times a week when we're down here! We're homies for sure! Lol!

 

My only regret is I didn't have enough time to tell him to come over here and chat with us. I give my word though that if I meet another Steeler down here I will be telling them to come hang with us some time.

 

thats pretty cool BFT. in the welcome to pittsburgh artie burns thread i told of my dad and step mom running into ike one night a week ago down there. he bought them drinks and hung out. dad bought a house down there that week, so i have a place not far from disney year round now. they bought it to get out of ohio for the winters. about a block from bay hill cc. i've met alot of them over the years. good friends with a couple ex steelers and a couple of other NFL players. they are pretty much your average guys. well with cool stories.

The only time I've been to Disney world was in July!! D'oh! Out of curiosity, what does a ticket cost to get in that place? Disneyland is almost $100.00 for one park!

 

As of last year, it is now $117 for a 1 day Ticket to the Magic Kingdom. We get Annual Passes and get a huge discount on them for being DVC Members. So this calendar year we will spend 25 days at Disneyworld and our Annual Passes are only $550 a piece. They are good for all four parks as much as we won't to go though. An AP to the general public though is like $900 a piece.

 

That's awesome man! I really think I would have definitely have got to ask him a couple of questions if he hadn't been with his kids. I was doing my very best to not be invasive. I didn't want to get on his nerves and all that. I actually saw this kid in a Steelers hat right after I saw him and I was like "Dude I just saw James Harrison!" and he said "WHERE?!?!" and I turned around and said "That's him walking way up there" and that kid was lit up like a Christmas Tree. I was more star struck than I usually get myself and I've seen him tons of times at games but when you just run in to a player that's pretty awesome. I was actually thinking of starting a thread to ask people if they ever had a BAD experience in meeting a player. Have all your experiences been positive?

I think if you meet anyone famous, the key is to just be respectful. That's why I could care less about autographs and don't ask for anything like that. A picture is fine, especially with phones now days, that's done in like one second but if they don't want to no biggie. I'm sure they are used to it, but I'm sure lots of times they just want to feel normal and human. Bottom line they are people just like you and me. Some will be nice and some won't, just like people.

 

That is very cool BFT. We love WDW...my wife is called Disney Denise. She did her college intern at WDW in 2004 and my daughter has done it twice and plans to go again next year. My wife has been trying for years to get us to move to Orlando so she can work full time for Disney. I am not sure I could handle the humidity and living on the east coast (whole life in Oregon). I am sure Harrison was a cool guy as he seems to be that from what I have read.
