Ive never been a Mendy fan- his style is bizzare. I will admit though I reaklly liked it when they were using him in the passing game a while back.... he looked effective at times and like a real weapon. Now the only looks he gets is that stupid screen pass. Running the ball though every 4th or 5th game he gets after it..... then he is back to the chucking and jiving......

    :this!:

I really don't see what Mendenhall's "wierd liberal rants" have anything to do with how well he plays. And while I know you're joking, I think if taking dance classes separated him from the rest of the team, Hines Ward must be like a complete outcast right not. Mendy's yards are down on FWPs because he was knocked out of the season by Ray Lewis. And people said exactly the same thing about Willie Parker that they said about Mendy, that he shyed away from the tackles and danced too much. The point is, when that kind of speed/agility RB is breaking a big run or two per game, you tend not to notice the short gains in between. When they don't, all this stuff about "prototype Steeler backs" comes out. FWP was impressive because in his first season he was undrafted and he got a lot of big gains. Mendy was a first round pick who got injured. Do I miss FWP? Beyond the superbowl season, not really.

I say all this and sound like Mendy's number 1 fan, which I'm not. But we have to be sensible about this, as HugeSnack has pointed out.

Meanwhile, Redman really did step up in the Broncos game, and that gives us a huge weapon for next season. I haven't got to seeing the full game yet - not sure if I can bear it, and I was getting married on the day of the game (very unfortunate planning, that) - but from what I saw, he showed all the signs of being the feature back a lot of people on here want him to be.
