you cannot "grade" a draft the same year it occurs. But ok. I'll give it an F++++

    This is incredibly disrespectful, IMO...

At least he has a football career to talk about. He played as a pro, and coached at the highest level. By your stat above, 128 games worth. I would wager any amount that despite his win/loss record, Herm Edwards has forgotten more about the game of football than you have ever known about the game.
You play to win the game. That is it. There is a very real reason why those words are iconic today. Not because of who said them, because of what they represent.

Playing to win the game would be Steelers rolling the dice on some young QBs to see if they have what it takes to be winning QBs... possible franchise QB. QB is everything in the AFC and the NFL if you haven't noticed. Playing to win 9 games and lose a wildcard playoff game with a washed up QB is not "Playing to WIN the game" in the long run. Steelers used to be about playing to WIN the BIG GAME.... the god damn Super Bowl.

So sick of arguing with people who want the status quo.

Not what my post was about, but I appreciate your opinion on the organization.

Not targeting you exclusively... just people here who are OK with the same ol, same ol. Sooner or later Steelers are gonna have to pay the piper and try out some young QBs.

Well, we currently have 2 QBs that have never taken an NFL snap. How young do we want to go?
Take the players you have on roster. Put the best team you can on the field with that roster. Try to go 1-0 each week.

That's what I'm saying.... we have to start somewhere. Treading out old QBs is not gonna get the team anywhere in the long run and it prolongs the inevitable. Time to roll the dice. Has to be done sooner or later.

Looks to me like it's currently being done. You can't get any more younger at QB than what we have.

Not if Rodgers decides to come back. He's not gonna sit the bench behind Howard and Allar.

It's not like they will just sit there and watch if Rodgers, or Rudolph, win the starting job. It's not an all or none type thing.

Yeah, but there's nothing wrong with accidentally tanking by trying out young QBs. Roll the dice and let the chips fall where they may.

Bringing up the guy's poor record as a head coach is not disrespectful. Not everyone is going to genuflect before anyone who has been a NFL head coach.

You're right. The team should be trying to win every single game they play. You should play and coach as hard as you can to win that game.

The thing is that you can still do that with a young quarterback and hope that he continues to play better with more playing time. It's difficult for a quarterback to get better without playing.

I think that's all anyone is trying to say.
