In the second Qtr. of tonight's preseason game vs the Patriots, Andre Brown broke his leg. Big blow for the Giants. Looks like the Giants may win tonight, too.

That's a huge loss for them. Didn't they have really high hopes for him?

I don't think it's that big of a loss. David Wilson is a ridiculously talented RB and I think he's going to have a monster year. Coughlin likes to bring his young guys along slowly which is why they've been relying on Brown as much as they have. All this does is force their hand, they're going to have to rely on David Wilson, which I don't think will hurt them at all

True, it's not a fatal blow or anything, but it does limit their options like you said. The Giants have been snake bit this preseason. I wonder, who's had it the worst as far as preseason injuries go?

It seems to me like this preseason we've seen a significant increase in the number of catastrophic injuries (breaks, ACLs, etc.). Wasn't the new CBA supposed to reduce those since the goal was to cut down on the number of padded practices with full tackling? It seems to have backfired. Maybe it's made the players too soft. Hmmm?

football is a game based on contact. you take away most of the contact these guys can have in the offseason and during the practice week and their bodies arent used to being hit anymore. therefore we are seeing a lot more injuries.

plus with all the fines these guys are getting i believe they are thinking too much and not reacting. you here it all the time in football. react, dont think. if you start thinking before you hit someone than that means you are probably slowing down and possibly relaxing a bit.

we are not going to see this change anytime soon either. the NFL just shelled out 3/4 of a billion dollars for basically concussions to players over the years. much easier for the NFL to justify why a guy cant walk than it is to explain why a guy cant remember his own name.
