to be honest i am leaning towards 3 guys to add. i do think with the addition of them we strengthen the team.

jack sawyer. he reminds me so much of watt coming in. just a good football player. i think has the mentality to work on his game to get even better. much like TJ did.

quinshon judkins. with he and warren as a 1-2 punch, you fix the run game for years to come. they are both very solid at what they do.

    now the QB spot.

i'm looking for a guy that is more a tom brady than a lamar jackson. none may get to these two's level but they have the tools to make your team quite solid at the position. in no real order.

kyle mccord. can read defenses. plus number 1. doesn't throw a ton of interceptions. would fit smith's offense. solid.

tyler shough. rinse and repeat as above. is said to have the strongest arm in this draft as well. again good fit for this offense.

will howard. i believe he is very coachable and possesses some very capable traits for this offense. these 3 seem very closely interchangeable.

i think with mason rudolph this could be a potent offense with the addition of these players. not flashy but sneaky good. we could also keep TJ.

i know everyone wants that flashy new DT that will make other teams cower in fear but i don't think they will be as big of factor as many think. give me solid over flashy any day. build a team not a position. we have a good starting core already. our free agent additions fill in better than many think right now. keep filling spots with solid players.

Have stated this is the past, Off all the mid round guys McCord really intrigues me. He may slide up some boards, but a a late 3rd or early 4th rounder could easily be justified. Someone this week said he was a sleeper Rivers type, IDK about that, but even if he is just a back up, after his rookie year he still gives you 3 cheap years. Might wash out totally, would not be the first, but definitely worth a look. Similar feelings about the other 2, not as high on Shough simply because of age.

I don't really consider a 3-4 DT/DE flashy, even with Tomlin's preference for gap penetration over coverage. But the reason I like going there early this year is because you've got some guys at the top of this class who have the size and power to close down running lanes and occupy blockers, with the agility to rush the passer and make Tomlin happy.

If he is still not drafted in round 7 the Steelers should take him. If the charges turn out to be untrue then he would be a steal that late in the draft.

Great video here from Matt Williamson. Talking about Omar's trends. Lots of talk of players that he may target based on their RAS, which he values highly. Worth the watch.

Some of what he's saying is kind of obvious (investing significant draft capital in premium positions after Colbert's did the opposite for the better part of 10 years, e.g.), but the RAS stuff will be interesting to see play out. Weidl has a good track track record for identifying good talent. It's a shame to see some of these guys missing significant chunks of their rookie years to injury.

Keep hearing all the contradicting reports... we're trading up for a QB, we're looking to trade down (according to Shefter), etc.... A lot can change (even on draft day), but if we're trading up its QB, if we're trading down we are probably targeting a QB that we think won't get drafted in the first 40 picks (and picking up a pick where we could target RB or DL). You never know who we really like (and who falls). Should be an interesting one on Thursday. Can't wait.

a new name popping up. a large contingent sent to notre dame's morrison's private workout. i'm guessing if we move back a few spots he could come into play. wouldn't be the worst pick. would make for a pretty good secondary. a 4.39 guy. wouldn't be a lot of people running by him.
